After seeing the Villa game the other nite it makes you realise how important it is for a player to make an impression on his debut. Cisse scored a cracking goal and looked impressive, and Taiwo looked a little shaky at the back. Now after one game people are expecting great things from Cisse, where as some people have already got a few doubts over Taiwo.. Interesting to see what happens over the rest of the season... Oh, and good luck Zamora today...

Assuming Cisse stays injury free (and i mean the long term shocker type he's had before), he will imo become our best striker since Sir Les.
Taiwo will be class have no fear, because he is a class player! He has Champions league and international pedigree for decent teams and that's why AC Milan bought him! Clubs like that don't tend to choose poor players....
He was unfortunate that he got injured early on in his time there and when he was fit again was overlooked for some reason, much to the dismay of many fans it would seem. Their loss is our gain.
He just needs a few games to get used to English football, while all the time getting sharper and more match fit. Also the defence as a unit need to get used to playing together. He certianly wasn't the only one at fault the other day but for some reason is getting the flack!
If anyone doubts his defensive abilities check out the Youtube vid where he has Arjen Robben completely in his pocket in the Audi cup pre season tournament 6 months ago. Not many full bakcs can do that....
Add to that the attacking ability we all know about, cannon shooting ability, and lethal free kicks and you have one hell of a player. SO all the doubters get of his back.
As for Zamora, think he'll be good for us. I don't think he will be judged on goals as much though as he is more a link man and foil for Cisse as i see it. Yes he will be expected to score his share, which i'm sure he will, but Cisse will be the main striker and play on the shoulder looking to get behind onto flick ons and through balls and beat the defence hands down with his pace. Once through on goal he's a great finisher....Last edited by Del; 04-02-2012, 11:00 AM.
