he will play cm. probably next to barton. big, strong and will break up opposition play, exactly the sort of player we could have done with against villa!!

Hughes will never play Adel in centre midfield, he's already been quoted as saying he will either play as 1 of an attacking 3, just off a lone striker or wide left.

Until Diakite is back from African Nations we have a choice of Buzz or Derry alongside Barton, and from what I've heard Buzz is still a week or 2 away from fitness!

If thats the case, and its a toss up between Adel & Derry to play CM at home to Wolves, theres is no way Derry should be picked over Adel.

You can't compare the 2 Matty, they are totally different types of players. The problem with putting Adel in centre mid is he doesn't tackle or track back and he gives the ball away a lot, for this reason Hughes will only use him further up the park. Agree with what you say about Derry, he is out of his league at this level but at the moment we don't have too many other options.

I know you cant, and Im not saying you can compare their games, but what I am saying is that, IMO, we need what Adel brings to a game alot lot more than what Derry brings in a home game against Wolves. If it was vs Tottenham, for example, then I agree I would go woth Derry.

Adel doesnt give the ball away much at all anymore, he used to, but since his return to the fold he doesnt at all (the stat of his in a recent game of 51 sucessful passes out of 52 says it all).

This is a game we can afford to go outabit more attacking than usual and try and get a few goals, perfect for Adel IMO.
