it is shameful that our once honourable club should stoop so low.Are we juventus in disguise?Jim Gregory would never have conned anybody.

there was no way we were going to spend 3.5m on anybody, otherwise we would have signed cox and beckford and maybe spurr at least we know they can do it in football league

They never said he cost £3.5m. It was always vague as to the actual fee, as it was reported to be a deal worth £3.5m... which could include wages for how ever many years maybe in the region of £2m, signing on fee, supposed £500k to Inter Milan who had an agreement and of course the actual transfer fee...whatever that was.

Yeah it is all "add-ons" so £3.5m is probably right if we achieve our objective, which I think is the best way to do it actually.

thats not the way its done though is it? otherwise every single signing would be multi million pound if you add on signing on fees, salaries, what ifs and all that other stuff.

they inferred he cost 3.5 million, not that he might cost that much over 3 years if certain criteria are met.

Not sure why this ali russell gets so much stick - he's just the monkey in this operation doing his master's bidding.

I agree.Statement on Official site on 9th July said " the 22 year old penned a 3 year deal at LR with Rangers agreeing a deal worth £3.5m for the left sided player". This was virtually repeated on the 16th July and the announcement on SSN definitely gave the impression that he had signed for £3.5m.The absence of any official clarification of the deal from HQ leaves most of the fans believing the club had spent that amount on a player just to appease them, when the probable truth is that the deal is spread over the 3 years of the players contract plus several misleading add ons dependant upon the team's and Faurlin's success rate.

I didn't say i agree with their way of doing things, i'm just stating the facts. It is clearly their way of trying to make out they've spent that much on a signing, but the fact they worded it as they did, seems to suggest it's obvious that the fee wasn't that much... otherwise they would just have said they've signed him for a fee of £3.5, which they didn't.

It is crafty and a bit of spin. Yes maybe the deal will grow based on certain caveats but that's a side issue.

At the end of the day i don't really give a toss how much they spend on players, spending more doesn't mean better players.... Buz was £500k and is a star, others have been more and get slated. It's more important that they get the right players in regardless. The only spending issues that would annoy me is if we missed a specific realistic target who would've definitely made a difference by £200k for example, because they wouldn't dig a little deeper.

3e difference between "fee of" and "worth" was pointed out on here by a few people within minutes of it appearing on the official site.

the club spins on peoples willingness to beleive the unbeleivable.
