  • Was it really two years ago that Gianni saved the club?

Still reckon we should do what Funky said and name a stand after this icon of QPR ;D

    Paul Smith, Sunday Mirror 29/07/2007

EXCLUSIVE -QPR chief Paladini to sell up

Gianni Paladini's troubled reign as QPR owner is set to come to an end this week.

The former football agent has agreed a £5million takeover at Loftus Road - just as Rangers have been hit by Football League sanctions.

Paladini said last night: "I've agreed in principle to sell the club. I'm selling the vast majority of my shares but I will be retaining a position at the club. The deal has not been signed off yet but I expect it to go through next week."

League bosses have withheld central funds from the club and placed a transfer embargo on Rangers, who have announced several recent deals.

Rangers must re-pay the entire £500,000 loan they received from Oldham Athletic which breached League regulations. Paladini insists the outstanding £300,000 from this loan will be repaid this week.

I'm still amazed about the changs we have made over the past couple of years.

Who would of thought Flavio Briatore, Bernie Ecclestone and the Mittall family would be involved at QPR 4 years ago???

Gianni of course deserves massive credit for attracting the investment as we all agree.

Quite incredible considering the amount of stick he was getting that he was able to bring the deal in at the final hour.

Other clubs have not been so lucky look at poor old Livingstone in Scotland today or how close Southampton have gone we really are lucky.

Lets hope the futures bright and we can have a good crack at the division come August the 8th

It looks to me the fans who craved change are the ones still moaning, but thats just an observation. It clearly indicates that even though we have the richest man in the world on board and no longer have collecting buckets to keep the club alive we can find other things to argue over. Things never change, its just the number of complainers have wittered down to about half a dozen. Most have got on with supporting the team

                Think its a bit longer.

Don't worry, we will be changing places this season. West Ham look like they have to sell yet another player in Lucas Neill.
