Taarabt HAS to start vs Wolves

Adel is by far and away the most creative player we have. He is the the only player that can slot that pass through in the final 3rd to put a striker through on goal. With Cisse up top now to latch onto these balls, I think we could see a few more goals than we have upto now.

Without splitting hairs, I take it you did not see the fantastic defense splitting ball Buzz put through for SWP to run onto and miss, otherwise you would not have said that. IMO, if Adel plays he needs to play up top with or behind a striker, not on the wing or CM, as he weakens the shape and balance of the team, when he goes walkabout.

taarabt behind cisse for me could be the one. but then we still have mackie and swp which is unfortunate! i dont expect to see zamore and taarabt in same side..

when i say expect i mean my own view. having 3 players not chase back away from home could be suicide.

If Tarrabt plays in a 4-4-2 (which Hughes favours) and costs us the game when he fails to track back will you all still praisin his inclusion. It is very hard to accommodate Tarrabt in a 4-4-2 for that very reason. Don't disagree it he is our most creative player but will be very surprised if he starts on Saturday Particuarly as he has only just returned from the ACN.

When he plays it will be after Hughes has had an opportunity to work out a suitable formation to fit him into and he has n't yet had time to do that. Hughes is very organised and prepares very well might be too soon for Tarrabt.

Spot on, i don't think some people understand the basics in football! Playing Adel in a 4-4-2 is suicide.

If people think we signed Cisse and Zamora to sit on the bench they're on another planet, MH will play 4-4-2 for the remainder of the season whether they like it or not.

Whether you love or hate SWP and Mackie they both get back to defend and make the formation solid. In my opinion Traore will play left midfield and SWP over to the right so some people will be happy about Mackie being dropped.

As i said in another thread, Adel will only be used in the hole, 99% of the time off the bench, coming on for one of the top two or coming on to add more of a threat if we're chasing a game.

Next season we might see a change in formation but for now MH has to go with what he trusts and thats 4-4-2.

Fair point mate. Didnt see that no, and tbh I keep bypassing Buzz when picking sides due to him being frozen out for so long! Big buzz than (as you know!) and would have no qualms at all with him starting, if fit.

Be intersting to see what 11 Sparky decides to go with.

If SWP or Mackie get in in front of him, I'm going to be very disappointed with Hughes. Neither of them are creating chances and Adel is our only sign of creativity. Wolves is a huge game and we have to come away with 3 points against that pony team, I really hope Hughes has some faith and chucks him straight in there and tells him to win him the game, I really think Adel is up for it, hope he proves me right. You R'ssss

I think I'd look to play Adel ahead of those two, as well.

To be fair to SWP though, he did create that chance which Mackie spurned, and could have won us the game at Villa the other night.

Against Wolves maybe a 4-3-3 all out system could work but to start off 4-4-2 with Adel on the bench would be the best bet. After all we are light on goals.

Adel could play in a 4-3-3 alongside Cisse and Zamora up front with SWP RMF, Barton CMF (sitting deeper in front of the back four acting as a defensive screen) and Traore LMF couldn't he?

Just to clear up this little conundrum, from the horse's mouth this is how Hughes plans to best utilise Adel within the team...

Hughes told London24.com:
