I do worry. Then the next minute i reassure myself that TF & AB arent mugs and wouldnt shell out all this dough if they weren't sure they could be a success. And anyway id support QPR in the Ryman league.

For now im just gonna enjoy the ride

[QUOTE=stainrodisalegend;805490]Only at QPR would the fans demand reassurance that the board isn't spending too MUCH.

stupid article, no facts to back up figures whole thing written based on assumptions and guesswork

what about ticket revenue, player sales etc

what about highlighting the point that you need to invest to grow a business

too many fans worry about this sort of thing...let the owners decide how to spend the money and just enjoy the football

Plus , what's the worse that can happen? Bankrupcy/receivership, docked points, relegation, £millions of debt paid off at a derisory tuppence to the pound and we're back where we were a few years ago.
Frankly I'd rather roll the dice and show some balls as opposed to wallowing in some sort of prudent/parsimonious tight-ship penny-pinching tedium.
I love current regime's attitude and boldness; players I never dreamt would sign for us are rolling up.... it's good, it;s fantastic and i love it!
If it all crashes and burns I'd have no regrets whatsoever.

Even if it all went t..s up there would still be a QPR just as there is still an Aldershot and Wimbledon etc.

...might not be a Loftus Road if it went belly up, but we would all follow the R's wherever and forever, no matter what...we may even win some silverwear on our way back up!

I enjoyed that article greatly and it's articulated a lot of my confusion recently. My best friend works for Rolls Royce and has had several very amicable dealings with Tony Fernandes over the years, providing engines for Air Asia. When TF took over QPR, I asked him what he was like and he said 'He's a very bright bloke and you'll do well but, you know he's got no actual money of his own?' I asked how he was able to buy out Ecclestone and Briatore and he shrugged his shoulders. 'All I can tell you is, he's a front man. He's got no money of his own.'

So the question is, where is all the money coming from? There are two Malaysian businessman in the background and the Mittals but if you'd spent 30 million and you were getting 45 million, why would you spend a further 20 million to get kicked in the nuts? And signing contracts that mean you'll get kicked in the nuts for many years to come doesn't make any sense...

As fans, we want the best team possible on the pitch. We pay our money, shout a lot and expect an instant return. God knows, the first season I saw had Stan Bowles, Gerry Francis and Don Givens in the team so I was spoilt. Every season since I've been greedy for more and the team of 92-93 were great but cost about 75p.

So why suddenly do we need to pay someone £60k a week? If we go down at the end of this season will it really be so bad? Last season in the Championship was fantastic (the other 13 not so good). Promoted clubs usually go down again, then they come up again, then they get some form of stability. The ones that spend big on staying up (like Portsmouth, Bradford etc) often end in tears. We could have kept Warnock till the end of the season, not spent a penny more and possibly stayed up. That would've been something to cheer about. We still might go down. Now I have a whole group of players I don't know (and a Manager) to try and cheer mid-season. One of them was banging the goals in against us a few weeks ago at Fulham. No wonder I'm confused...

Suddenly we are panic spending. If we are buying players like Cisse and Zamora for millions and giving them hundreds and thousands in wages halfway through the season (while getting gates of 15,000) I would suggest the numbers don't add up. That's my money, your money and probably just massive debt on top of that. There's only one way that can end and it's not pretty...

One thing I've learnt over past several years is this. There are two types of fan: One sort who perenially fret and worry about the make-up and motives of the Board/owners and another sort who really don't care and take the view owners come and go but world keeps on spinning.
I personally fall into the latter category but I make no judgement about which type of fan is "best" or which is the healthiest attitude to have. That said, there's enough stuff to fret about on the actual pitch every week without adding to the stress of it by worrying about "the suits" too......... S'pose it comes down to what sort of capacity you have for worry or puzzling?
