  • Taarabt and Cisse

Watching Cisse last night I feel we need to use Adel to put some quality passes to his feet, I recon they could rip defences apart. Question is, where do we play Adel? The only place I can see him in the team in on the right

    Kenny
    Young Onuoha Ferdinand Taiwo
    Adel Barton Diakité Traoré
    Cisse Zamora

IMO, the only place to play Adel is up top with a striker, or behind the striker. Anywhere else is a waste of time as weakens the shape and balance of the team, when he goes walk about. The problem is with MH playing a 4-4-2, with two banks of four, is Adel disciplined enough to do as he is told, as I dont think MH does mavericks, but if he sorts his attitude out, he could be one hell of a player.

I've made this point elsewhere today, Adel is capable of conjuringa pass that no one else spots (the Routledge goal against Cov last year for example), but if Cisse is on the same wavelength, we could open teams up.

At the very least it will prevent teams from playing a high line against us.

Completely agree. I can't see Adel starting to many games this season simply because MH is going 4-4-2. Next season he may change but for the remainder of this season we're going to be solid.

          Kenny
          Young Onuoha Ferdinand Taiwo
          SWP Barton Diakite Traore
          Cisse Zamora

The above is the team i'd guess MH will pick at full strength. Adel isn't a winger, he isn't going to run up and down the pitch all day. Playing him in that position will leave our full backs out to dry.

I guess he'll be used as a sub most games. When we're winning he could come on for Cisse/Zamora and play in the hole or if we're losing he could come on for a defender/centre mid and play in the hole behind the front two.

Next season he could play Zamora up top with Cisse and Adel either side, but that will depend on the players he brings in.

It's going to be interesting to see where or if AT fits into Hughes' system! I agree that he may just be the guy to be feeding Cisse with creative passes, the question is where will he be on the field! AT must know also that Hughes will not tolerate any of his shenanigans, it's going to be real interesting!
