      Ok old chap, I see you are going down the line of ' just because you were born here don't make you English'.

      This is an interesting debate and I often find myself asking black or asian people in the street why they are wearing England shirts when they are clearly not English but then I wake up and realise it was a dream and I am not a complete retard after all. Phew.

      Surely if this is your argument then all England players of parentage that is not of 100% anglo-saxon lineage shouldn't be allowed to represent England?!

                Not at all, so if you are English, why do you support Ireland ?

                  As it has effectively gone to a "higher power" for verdict, then the FA have, very correctly, left that higher power to reach a verdict. The FA will then act based upon that ruling.

                  It is quite simple and actually exactly the way it should be done.

                  Do you get it now?

                    I like potatoes.
                    Banning people is no longer my hobby,
                    but take a look at my photo blog:

                    How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

                      As stated earlier;

                      Ireland for me for a few reasons;

                      1. Shane Long is a family friend (still gutted we couldn't get him when NW wasn't given the funds)
                      2. I'd rather eat my own face with a spoon than support a team that had that man as captain.

                      Simple.

                      I'm allowed to support both, there's no law against it! Most second generation Irish do. But with JT still there, no thanks.

                        Being 2nd generation Irish I have to say this is a complete myth. Certainly a few of the older generation who remember the oppression of the black & tan period etc. hold a grudge but my parents, uncles, aunties etc. see England as a friendly rivalry. My mum has previously happily cheered England in major tournaments.

                        Ireland still play with passion, playing for the country means something to the players which it clearly doesn't to alot of England players anymore...http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/14607562

                        On the other hand, the whole of Ireland does actually hate John Terry. Fact.
                        Im a 2nd generation of 4 different nationalities, still choose England and always will (even though its like a kick in the teeth sometimes). People can support who they like in my opinion, its no skin off my nose. Theres plenty of Rangers from other countries of counties even, are we going ot tell them to take a run and jump because theyre not from H&F borough?

                        From experience Id say the Irish are probably the least hateful towards the english, if I was to compare them to my experiences in scotland (where the sell Anyone But England t-shirts during world & european cups) or wales. Whether people hate the english is up to them really, couldnt give a monkeys tbf. What does wind me up are the english wallys that back that twunt Murray to the hilt (and the papers that try to claim him as english), never known him to have anything nice to say about england.

                              Even if it hadn't gone to CPS do people really imagine that the FA would have come down as hard on JT as they did Suarez?

                              The current situation whereby the FA is responsible both for enforcing the game's laws and running the national side is an enormous conflict of interest and a complete joke. England players routinely get away with blue murder.

                              Look at the recent example of Kompany getting a four match ban for a hypothetically bad challenge and nary a word for Glen Johnson days later when he does the same only twice as bad.

                                Very good point, huge conflict of interest there surely?
