That was an accurate statement at the time but events change the course of history. Nedum Onuoha who was a NW target and was a done deal with only the t’s to be crossed and the i's to be dotted. But he was a loan deal and would have been but for AF doing his knee in. That caused a change ( and delays in getting the cost and loan turned into a buy ) in plans due to restrictions on two loans so the dynamics of the targets who they thought they would buy and those on loan changed.
