Fulham striker Andy Johnson scuppered the Whites’ bid to sign Wigan’s Hugo Rodallega according to chairman Dave Whelan.

The west London club and the Latics had agreed a swap deal that would have taken the Columbian to Craven Cottage but the 30-year-old Englishman did not want to go to the DW Stadium.

“I’ve no idea why Johnson said no, I think he didn’t fancy coming north,” Whelan said.

“It would have been a good deal for us, but that’s football.''

Why would Johnson want to go? if Fulham are selling Zamora thats one less striker in competition with him and if he goes Wigan and they go down then he will no longer be a championship player.

I also get the feeling he is very settled in West London
