Queens Park Rangers are set to sign Samba Diakite from Nancy and could make another late raid on French football, according to The Times. QPR reportedly watched Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud and are considering a late bid.

Olivier Giroud (born 30 September 1986 in Chambéry, Savoie) is a French footballer. He currently plays as a striker for the Ligue 1 side Montpellier.

Giroud is one of Tours FC's 2009/2010 season discoveries, and was the team's top-scorer.[2]
On 26 January 2010 signed for Montpellier HSC, and scored the winning goal against Hungarian side Győri ETO in the Europa League Third Qualifying Round, first leg in Hungary on 29 July 2010.
On 14 August, Giroud scored the winning goal against holding Ligue 1 champions Lille.
After some fine performances for his club, Giroud was called up to the France national football team on 3 November 2011 by manager Laurent Blanc.[3]
He came on for his debut as a substitute on 11 November 2011 in the 1-0 win over United States.
Following a series of impressive performances for Montpellier, Giroud has been linked with a move abroad to the Premiership.
