Clint has been very good for us. But you need your full backs to be better on the ball. Not asking for them all to be like roberto carlos just need to be better at ball retention.

god bless him, he's got his limitations... he's probably not prem quality, but he's played his heart out. the memory him reducing sturridge to a useless quivering mess in the league game in october will always bring an enormous smile to my face.

Was in the west paddock. Shortly after the pen, Hill was taking a throw in and he clearly said to the lino, "No way was that a penalty". The lino just shook his shoulders and smugged.

He is growing in confidence while SWP is losing more confidence.

Let's not get carried away, didn't we get the penalty in the previous game because Luis 'accidentally' crowded on whoever, that got us our penalty. Could have been part of their game plan to target CH. Don't forget, it was AVB's job under mourinho to supply video reports on every opposing player sussing out their strengths and weaknesses.

We all know that CH constantly accidentally does things in the box, and it's not the first penalty against him? I'm not knocking him, I love the bloke too, but if it had of been against us, we would have been screaming for the pen too.

So much emphasis is put on attacking FBs but very little on defensive capabilities in the PL. Hill has proven to be capable defensively this season, very very good at the dirty niggling off the ball stuff. He'll never pull up any trees but he is reliable and a good squad player who deserves credit.
Can't argue with that. He has done brilliantly for us.

Luis gave Heider a clear hand-in-the-back shove - no comparison!

Totally agree W12. Top post. And as for the criticism some give him mere for the penalty. It wasn't even a foul. Sturridge is a cheat, end of.

Only mystery to me is why have we never used him at CB? There's been loads of occasions when we've had injuries/suspensions and thus been a bit unsettled at CB but never turned to Clint.... I think he'd be a very solid choice at CB and his lack of ability to maraud forward wouldn't really matter.

I wouldn't say he has been or is one of our best players this year
                          BUT
he is the player who has used up as much of his ability as possible which is a great credit to him

we have players with premiership star ability who have played worse than clint hill who is a championship star at best in terms of ability alone

Considering he was out the door on loan earlier in season, he's come back and done really well. Model pro, and deserves a one year contract extension. One of our best players this season, nothing fancy, just does his job.

its remarkable how many can't see it though, defenders first and for most defend....Traore especially and even Young at time defending has been very suspect compared to CH
