Granted mate, but I wouldn't chance it. I'd rather play Borrowdale at LB than have DS involved in a 3 man defence.

In all seriousness...I'd rather have Ramage in a 3 man defence than Stewart as Ramage reads the game better on defensive duties than Stewart.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying Damo is completely useless, but he does need someone to hold his hand and that makes him a liability IMO.

Look at how 15 and 16 year old players at Arsenal do it with their eyes closed. Could it be that because they play to a system from U13's up to the first team ?
I completely missed that post somehow, and I completely agree. This is the main reason I don't rate Stewart. Sure, he's solid, pacey and good in the air, but he's a f**king dougnut. He is far from a clever footballer and that's why he gets caught out quite reguarly. His positional sense is appauling and that constantly drags his CB partner out of position too as they seem to have to cover for him.

Yep the balance looks better and Legs, Rowlands and Buzz could drop back in 1 second to turn the system into a more defensive one.

        -------------------- Cerny --------------------
        ---- Connolly ---- Gorkks ---- Borrowdale (other LB) ----
        ---------------- legsofwood -------------------
        - Routledge - Rowlands - Faurlin - Taarabt -
        ------------------ Buzsaky --------------------
        ---------------------- Vine ---------------------

I, BTW, don't have any problem with that formation but it wd be nice to have the flexibility to play 4-4-2 on other occasions, such as when we are playing weak teams at home.
But is there a way round this problem? Could anyone who has seen Faulin play say if he cd take the holding role? Or does he need either Legs or Rowly alongside him to do the ugly stuff? Alternatvely, with Cook injuried and Tarrabt playing up top, cd he as a left footed player be deployed out wide?
I agree with all those who say we still need an out and out goal scorer but more positively you have to say even with the players we have it is quite hard to fit everyone you would want playing in the team.
So far I'd have Vine up front, Tarrabt as a sort of slightly withdrawn inside left, Buz in the hole and routledge out wide with Faulin and either Legs/ Rowly in the holding role. But that means no Balanta, Helguson or the Italian.
          Thoughts...?
It will be 4-4-2, remember that Jim does play his best players out of position, so do not be surprised to see buzsaky on the left wing! or Connolly as left back!

The sooner we sort out our youth policy and scouting networks not only will we save money in the long run but we will have players who know the QPR way of football.
Couldnt agree with you more. If these guys are really serious about the long-term future of the club they should be investing some of their miliions into a proper youth academy and scouting network.

I like it Swede I like it alot.
I would still have to fit Vine in probably where Balanta is and you can't judge him on kick about training games but he will deserve to come on and give him 30mins.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I read them all but nevertheless, theyre strong words for someone voted last season's player of the year.

We must be the only club in the championship who get in a loan a player like tarrabt and play him 5 minutes away to Southampton. Anyway, thats history. Thank gould, it will be more entertaining this season, that will be reflected in crowd attendances as well in time.
So how many honours have you and the Chairman won to be making such retarded statements??

Surely, the decision of what formation you play depends on the players you have, the ability of the players, and the opposition??

Even though in Pete's campagin against Sousa he accused Sousa of playing boring football, but it was Sousa who immediately went to the diamond formation when he took over, because it was clear to everyone our biggest problem was having 2 central midfielders who did'nt want to cross the halfway line. Hardly a boring tactic was it??

Maybe, but in fairness, I've had this opinion of him from the start. I did accknowledge and applaud him for last season, but he still made plenty of mistakes...especially towards the end of the season where Ramage still got the blame even if he wasn't on the pitch.

As I say, It's clear he has ability. Strength, pace and ariel prowess, but concentration is a key factor for any CB. This is an attribute I don't believe him to have. If he had that, I firmly believe he could be Prem worthy as he scores a fair amount for a CB too, but his indecisiveness and the way he switches off at times is too much of a liability.

This is only my opinion and something I stand by.

Mods, just wondering, does language and personal attacks such as this break house rules?
