Would have been excited 5 years ago. Not the same player now. A goal every 5 games for Lazio.

Still an improvement on the current donkey's we've got.

Someone said the other day he's been played as a winger mostly for Lazio so considering that, and in a defence focused league its a very good return. Either way its still much better than Johnson, Zamora, Crouch etc who've all been said to be "the answer".

Before Lazio his record in greece was nearly a goal a game over 2 seasons....

Hope this happens as he's the best we can get.

As a solution for this season I don't think we can do any better, the main business will be done in the summer when more players are generally available!

                    • I think we need an extra if we get cisse.....but that is not going to happen I am affraid.

                      • To protect both parties should we get relegated, but that is our lot when it comes to loans, with the "other" samba also coming on loan.Cisse would be a great signing

                        • reading the Sunderland forum about Djibril Cisse a few days ago, he is rated very highly when he was playing for them on loan ,

It seem Steve Bruce wanted to buy him but Niall Quinn didnt. I'm not sure why.

Many users would love to have him back, if we can get him on loan and see how it goes it could be a good move on our part,

                          • Never been a big fan of his but would probably do a job on loan just on raw pace and energy. £5m for a 30 year old on God knows what wages would be poor business however IMO.

Every time we get linked with some old has-been there's a post like this. "Oh we were losing to Vauxhall Motors not long ago how can you say no to Michael Owen etc, blah blah little old QPR". Being a smaller club means boxing clever and spending on best quality when possible, not being a permanently starstruck retirement home.
