If we had the big stadium I'd have been confident of getting a ticket and would have been able to make necessary plans involving travel, work rota and child care ages ago and be all set to go on saturday.
With barely 15000 tickets available to home fans and the staggered limited release of tickets it's too late for me to sort it all out.

BTW.... Crowds for QPR v Chelsea in 80s mostly ranged from about 15K to 22K Home AND Away.... in 2 or 3 of those seasons there was a bigger crowd at LR than at CFC.

its nit picking matches individual games which had very low crowds....there's no point imo, just clutching at straws

fernandes won't build a new ground anytime soon if ever

we won't build and new ground in w12 if we do move

we won't attract 10k new fans for 10+ years which would rely on us not being relegated

My memory may be hazy, but there definitely was a time when their average gate plummeted, must have been early 80s, then.

Point is, the wheel does usually turn full circle. It has for Chelshyte, and I'm pretty damn sure it will for us, especially with the board we have in place now.

This topic always gets divided opinions and we go round in circles every time the subject comes up. It's an interesting debate and no-one knows who is right until it's tested.

We do clearly have a self imposed maximum gate which stops us from growing. We don't sell out due to several reasons, away allocation not sellling out, family ticket restrictions, obstructed views etc, but we do get to around 90% capacity, and very rarely are tix available on matchday and some fans just don't plan ahead. So this means that potential casual turn ups don't bother in case they can't get in or get bad seats.

The biggest point is that there are clever businessmen in charge, who can put together marketing plans to exploit the massive catchment area. Some fans are fanatical and will always watch 'even when we were sh!t' as the song goes, when other more casual fans prefer not to watch us when we were sh!t. Its those casual fans that we need to turn into regular turn ups, and we won't do that in our current stadium, and if we want to stay a prem club we really have to expand, 16-17k in the prem is unsustainable, and we will yo-yo up and down the leagues if we stay as we are.

For 2 seasons, when crowds across the country were on the decline, Chelsea have always been a big club, lets get real here they were getting 40k + when we averaged 3-4k

you're required to turn up 20+ times a year for 90 mins, you want comfort buy a new sofa
I would not believe everything that website say mate, just like wikipedia.

My uncle is a Chelsea die hard fan and he been going to stamford bridge more than thirty years.

Tell you what, I'll be seeing him tomorrow and will get back to you

It amaze me how some don't realize if you build a new modern stadium, you will attract a new crowd too. The 15k hardcore QPR turns up ignoring the fact Loftus Road is a dump (I still like it mind). It's them additional 15k who went to Cardiff for the Play Off final, them who queued up for tickets to the Leeds game last season who will start to come on a more regular basis if the facilites are better.

It is just how it works. If you like it or not is another question.

we are a small club with a small fan base and even with a 30k seater we would only fill it if we were playing the big 'uns and we gave them a massive allocation. Regardless of the play-off game and the Leeds game we will not get anywhere near filling a 30k stadium

OK, OK, I will take the defeatist line.

Yes, Yes, we are a small club, should by rights be getting 3-4k every week as befits our humble status.

And yes, yes, Chelshyte are a huge club, much, much, bigger than lil' ol' Rangers, and will always b the case.

                        No room for ambition, here.

I can honestly say I have never had this debate with any Rangers fans except on a MB. The thought of suggesting to any Rangers fans down the pub or at the match that we should build a ground that holds 35,000 to 40,000 fans would have me laugh and ridiculed to the point I would be too afraid to show my face for a long time. I don't know what it is about message-boards but they seem to attract fans I never ever seem to encounter in real life.
