Cornish - can you not appreciate the huge difference between stereotyping and racism? Not that I'm saying either is right but they simply don't belong on the same charge sheet.

I'm half welsh, and none of my family hate the English. I'm sure there's some Welsh people who do, but don't tar everyone with that brush, just to justify your own hate..
Most people manage to crack on with their lives, not obsessively hating everyone that isn't them. Most people are quite affable to be honest.

Just on a side issue I don't go a bundle on the casual xenophobia that has now moved on from black people to Welsh either. Can I just point out that our saviour, Mark Hughes, is a former star player and manager for Wales? Are you going to ask him if he shags sheep, too? All this reminds me of the story John Barnes tells of how all the Liverpool fans were making monkey noises throughout the match at opposition black players, then afterwards came up and asked Barnes for his autograph. When he pointed out the contradiction, one of the fans replied: "Yeah, don't worry mate, you're alright - you are our ni**er."
Never understand all this tribal hatred, but hey guess a lot of people must feel very threatened and insecure...

No need for it nowadays of course, but that mindset has been passed down through the generations.Last edited by Stanley; 24-01-2012, 11:24 AM.

The club as to take this stance as it needs to do all it can to try and defuse a very heated situation, because if they dont and it boils over they will be part of a FA / Police enquiry and if they have not done all what they can to defuse the situation they could be open to legal and FA punishment.
They cant make Anton shake his hand, but they will point out that this effected Anton's form more than Terry, he needs to do what is needed to try and calm the situation down as they dont want any trouble which will be highlight all over the world and drag on for ages.
Wether anyone on here likes it or not, the best thing for Anton to do, is rise above all this hatered, rise above JT and show he is the better man to do what he can to calm the situation down and shake hands.
Not a popular view on here I know but there is a far bigger picture that i feel needs to be said. One for all.... and all for one

For those in agreement with this idea....when was the last time you or your family were racially abused by a known bully..?
As for the welsh thing..thats ridiculous..no comparison at all
and as for the tribal defending the country thing...didnt our armies have large black / coloured only battalions of shoulders..?

So you are seriously saying it's a stereotype and acceptable to call somebody a Welsh C@@t or a ginger c@@t, but not a Black c@t?

However, logically, somebody explain to me why it's different? Why you can insult a Welsh person or Ginger person or somebody's mother, but not a black person?
Double standards pure and simple.
Prejudice is prejudice whether against Blacks, Welsh, Gays or whatever.
