Rovers won't let Samba leave for relegation rivals

Last week, the Ewood Park *hierarchy decided they would not sell their *powerful centre-back to QPR at any price. Rangers were the only club to table a formal offer for the 27-year-old Congo international.

That stance did not prevent Rangers returning with a third approach on Friday.

Rangers were sharply told that they should not bother returning with any further calls. Samba will not be sold to them – or anybody else.

A Rover insider said: “There was a meeting last week in which the *various options were looked at. We all agree that the best hope of Blackburn staying in the Premier League is with Chris Samba on our staff. Anything else can potentially damage us – *especially if we let him go to QPR.

“Last weekend, we had a big win against Fulham to climb out of the bottom three for the first time since September.

“That put QPR into the relegation zone. Helping them boost their squad with Mark Hughes in charge would be crazy.”

Samba is refusing to play for them so Kean will have no choice but to sell him come the end of the month

All to boost up the price. With their financial issues, if a formal £8Mill was laid out on the table, I really dont think they would be in any position to say no. Especially as the lad himself doesnt even want to be there.

I would like to point out that Blackburn only have financial issues in the same way we do. They are running at a big loss as are we. They have rich owners (and they are still very rich), as do we, the only difference is that their owners are less willing to subsidise the club than ours are. They really don't have to sell if the Venkeys decide they don't, which appears to be the case on the face of it.

Besides, he'll go to Spurs if they do crack.

I don't think we owe Barclays Bank or the tax man. At least at haven't heard that we do. Also our owners have not said that they will only invest between 3-5 million a year on the club.

Hoping that other bids will come in for him!

If no other bids come in and Blackburn call us to off load him, we should then offer 2-3 million less then what was on offer.

They will not want to keep a player who don't want to be there and were banking on other bids to come in, they'll have no choice but to accept our offer or they'll be stuck with a player on strike for the next few years.
