if he wants to look after his mother full time he should take a year out and forgo the 50k a week he is picking up at man city..
we need to concentrate on staying up and we are starting to look a bit desperate..
enough of this bleeding heart stuff we need to look after our own interests..
the whole deal looks fishy to me..
i reckon he has used us to go to Bolton

I had a look on the sunderland forum and they don't really rate him that highly anyway. They said his positional sense was diabolical. Have a read yourself and see what you think. It definitely made me think we were overhyping him. But then again I'm still sure he's twice the player that gigantic welsh care bear Gabbidon is.

The sky is falling in...the sky is falling in...nowhere in that article or anywhere else doesn't say he has turned us down..if you read it properly it says no deal will be completed this weekend ...in response to Mancini quotes. Everything else is hysterical supposition and heresay, people on here really do need to calm down. Get down to the ground and properly support our team in our most important game of the season

Never understood the slagging Gabbidon gets as he's done very little wrong this season as far as i can see...

AS for Onoura at Sunderland, that could've been through poor indecisive instruction from his manager regaridng the system or movement, when to go when to sit etc... Bruce has hardly done well in the last calendar year.

Hughes knows him from City and will know more about his game than any Sunderland fans, so if this deal did somehow come off, then i'd have every confidence in Hughes to get him playing really well in the system he wants to play.

I never saw the interview, so hope you're right mate.

TBH, it was common knowledge that he'd previosuly wanted to stay in the North, so surely, MH and the club must have addressed that question in the first telephone discussion with the player. So the fact things have progressed always suggested he was prepared to move.... Let's hope this deal does come back into contention.

But can't argue at all if it is his reason, I'm sure all of us would stay put for the sake a cancer-stricken mother.

Bit gutted about missing out on this 1 tbh.
Agree with that matty,He must have been open to a move to start with, but yep
his reason is something you can't argue with.
Just hope it's not our captain putting players off

I think there's still a good chance it will happen. He can't stay at City unless he wants to kiss goodbye to his career, Mancini has no interest in playing him. I think Wigan was his first league appearance for them in two years. Also Kia Joorabchian is his advisor and a close ally and advisor for Hughes.
