Sorry to disappoint - no link to say we are in for him. But reading the papers today it says Wellbeck is on 45k a week and pushing for 65k. OK, so its more than most people earn in a year and he is young but my point is this shows that while football wages are crazy, perhaps they aren't typically quite as crazy as some on here think. Admittedly players wd love to play for Man U unlike relegation threatened QPR, but those who are suggesting we chuck 80k a week at this and that player as if it was last night's beer money are not living in the real world - that's £4m a year, on top of a transer fee. Yet less than 10,000 turn up to see us in the Cup and some fans are complaining about spending 30 odd quid to see some of the top players in the world when we take on Chelsea.

You may talk sense - but this is what really ****es me off about football now.
I really wouldn't mind payers being payed fortunes if the money was already in the game, but it isn't. The TV money doesn't cover it, so these demands by players means clubs buckle and push massive ticket price increases onto the fans.
I would rather we had a model like they do in Germany - where the fan is put first - yes maybe that means they don't win the champions league, but they have the best facilities, the best stadiums, crowds and atmosphere and the fan pays pittance compared to what we do....oh and public transport is free if you have a match ticket!!
