its amazing after all these years of watching football that people still try to judge how well a team is going to do judgin their pre season. these games mean absolutely nothin. real madrid buy all that talent and only beat that irish side 1-0. jeez i think theyll be lucky to finish mid table  as for people playin out of position, whats wrong with tryin things out? surely thats what friendlies are for...

connelly playing out of position. them wanting to play taarabt out of position instead of investing in a striker.

it has already been said that we had most of the possession. why was this not converted into goals. now remember this was only oxford. we do this in the championship and we will be shown up.

the defense that we believe is so tight has shipped goals to teams in slovenia, croatia and now a team in the conference. maybe they are not as good as we believe.

we have been told that the midfield is full of flair. however oxford managed to cope with this amount of flair very well. bearing in mind we had most of the possesion and they will have been on the back foot.

maybe just maybe we think our team is better than it really is. maybe we have been carried along by QPR's PR Machine.

now if we were building a team then i would not be too worried but we all know deep down that if things are not going well after 10 games magilton will be on his way out and we start all over again.

magilton does not have the time to wait for january and see if where we are as some have suggested. by that time he will be gone and someone else will be at the helm.

Why are we not busting a gut to get that much needed striker. we will not get out of this division without one. many of our rivals for promotion have 2 or 3 of these players. whereas at the moment we have none.

the italian could turn out to be good but what happens if he breaks his leg 2 games in. do we blame our faliure on that.
Wow you got all that out of a friendly match, I see we have a new pessimist to join the ranks. Clearly you are on some sort of wind up because a competitive ball has not yet been kicked.

I can't believe our fans are overreacting about drawing 2-2 against Oxford.
Actually I knew this would happen. Just typical QPR fans.
Calm down guys. Over react when its a League game not a bleeding friendly where they are just getting a run out before the season starts!
Jeeze! Some clubs do well in pre-season then do **** in the league.
            Don't worry LOL

Went to the game last night and this is what I thought for what its worth:

Firstly, I'm not too concerned about the result or about certain individuals performances as it is only a friendly.

I thought we played our best football in the first 20 minutes. The directive seemed to be to pass the ball at every opportunity and to retain possession. Oxford sat back and didn't really press as much as they did later. As a consequence we looked pretty decent and composed.

I was especially impressed with Balanta - he could have a great season and Connolly was also very classy. They both worked well down the left hand side. Vine looked a little unfit so unfair to judge. I felt a little sorry for Agyemang - the way we played first half and the way Oxford played, it would've have suited his game far more to have been used in the 2nd. He's much better when we play a little more direct and when there's more space beyond the last line, as in the 2nd half when Oxford pushed forward more.

Thought Routledge had a pretty decent game - always willing to take on his man and beating more often than not. I thought Hall played well and played a number of decent long range passes from the back. Ramage did his best - good defender but not brilliant when going forward.

Pellicori only had part of the 2nd half but I thought he did well with the few chances that he had - I'm feeling quite confident about him. He provided a focal point which the first half attack lacked. I think the reason we struggled at times in the 2nd half was down to Alberti being played as the holding midfielder - I quite like the boy but his best position is not holding midfield. Maybe with Faurlin playing we would've have been more solid. Taarabt needs more game time, and playing against physical lower league players didn't really suit him.

Thought the linesman and the ref didn't do us any favours and as for their two goals, well one was probably not a pen and an individual error - not too concerned. Besides, Oxford played quite well 2nd half - their number 10 was a real handful.

If we continue to pass and retain the ball, have a focal point upfront, protect the back 4 with a proper holding midfielder, get key players back to fitness and form then I expect us to do well next season.

              C'mon U rrrrrrrrssssss!!!!!!

If anyone at any level , includung women(like Cait lol) has played football, they willl all tell you friendlies are that.Friendly..

I know this is Saturday amateur league - but few years ago the team i managed - beat all the top clubs in 4 pre seasonm friendlies....we thought we would walk the league - only to get the worst start possible once the season started.

Very good point made about Spurs last season by poster above.

What Jim will get out of these games, is who is conformatable where and what areas need to be looked at.

We do need a striker - but the encouraging points about our team, is that we have players from mdfield that can contribute.

So does that mean people can't have an opinion ??

Pre season games do mean nothing and its a good work out didn't Blackburn lose every pre season game then won the league

My worry is that I remember all this last season about how we didn't need a striker because of our great midfield and look what happend We need a decent striker and a left back and we would have a decent chance of getting in the play offs without we will play decent football but will lack that cutting edge

Pre season is about fitness and trying a few new things out.

So, my worry is that Vine doesnt SOUND* fit nor does Ageymang going by this and other pre season games, not the result, not who scored

*as i wasnt AT any of the games im going by what people have said
