you can't know much if you think the result of friendlies are important.
too be fair its not just based on tonight.
its based on everything.
connelly playing out of position. them wanting to play taarabt out of position instead of investing in a striker.
it has already been said that we had most of the possession. why was this not converted into goals. now remember this was only oxford. we do this in the championship and we will be shown up.
the defense that we believe is so tight has shipped goals to teams in slovenia, croatia and now a team in the conference. maybe they are not as good as we believe.
we have been told that the midfield is full of flair. however oxford managed to cope with this amount of flair very well. bearing in mind we had most of the possesion and they will have been on the back foot.
maybe just maybe we think our team is better than it really is. maybe we have been carried along by QPR's PR Machine.
now if we were building a team then i would not be too worried but we all know deep down that if things are not going well after 10 games magilton will be on his way out and we start all over again.
magilton does not have the time to wait for january and see if where we are as some have suggested. by that time he will be gone and someone else will be at the helm.
Why are we not busting a gut to get that much needed striker. we will not get out of this division without one. many of our rivals for promotion have 2 or 3 of these players. whereas at the moment we have none.
the italian could turn out to be good but what happens if he breaks his leg 2 games in. do we blame our faliure on that.
Blackpool drew 3-3 with liverpool reserves behind closed doors the other day coming back after conceeding 3 times on the trot. Liverpool reserves are a tad better than oxford.
Olly will have them fired up and raring to go, So jim needs to kick some ass to get our lot into shape in the next 2 weeks thats for sure.
strange things do happen in these games though, better conolly has a howler now than on the 8th likewise with the journeyman forwards
its New Era number 8 i tell thee, bring on the fireworks
I can not believe the over reaction of some people! I had a fella sat next to me tonight going so mad you would have thought it was a playoff final, when vine was subbed he said "thank god that useless C you next tuesday is going off".... I actually laughed abit.
We could have scored more tonight, but coming out of there finished at 2-2 botherd me about as much as the roadkill i drove over on the way home. Yeah its nice to see some goals and yeah were all chomping at the bit for football again but tonight means nothing.
Onto the game itself...
Thought we knocked it about alright, it was never a pen, gorkks couldnt move out the way of it, and there second was just a silly mistake which id rather they make now than on aug 8th!... I thought Pellicori did alright when he came on, looks like abit of a fox in the box to me, after every cross, header, shot he was at the keepers feet for any lose balls. He also done well to nearly score with a header in truth he made a lifeless cross look goal bound, then he hit the post and was unlucky not to score, and in fairness the keeper did well to gather the ball.
All in all another good turn out, onto Wycombe we march....

jus back myself report spot on, thought balanta looked on fire in the first half, vine was poor(fitness?) looked like adel hasn't played a lot of football. as for the moaners there were positives and negatives but it was a friendly so cop your ****ing selves on
Many of you were saying it was a lack of goals, we score 2.
just seen there penalty and it was never a pen in month of Sunday's. Connolly who everyone is raving about was at fault for the second goal.
Its one game, don't get you knick knocks in a twist, the real stuff starts a week Saturday. cannot believe we are having this conversation for a poxy friendly.
fez, like pepsi cola, best I've heard LOL
lol I thought it was quite good,... if I may say so myself!
thats 10 goals in 4 games and you tell me need a striker, on that basis we score around 100 goals next season.
Okay, lets be serious...Pellcori hits the post twice, we have Vine, taarbt and Balanta, don't tell me they won't score goals
10 goals in 4 games and you tell me we need a striker,Peter you are either seriously taking the ****,or you are deranged,we have played 4 **** teams and you are coming out with the exact same crap as last summer, have you learnt nothing.we have alot of talented midfielders, but we are very weak up front ,and that wont change unless we buy,and unless we do we wont get promoted,i would bet my house on it.
