  • Funny how people see games differently

Last night I thought Bothroyd was awful, He is so slow, plays the game at a pace which just brings everything to a standstill.
When he headers the ball it is like he is scared of it.

Thanks Jay, but time to move on.

Buszacky I thought looked better as he gets fitter. At least he can take a free kick and hit the target, which we scored from the resulting corner.

Others on here are actually saying Bothroyd played well??

ANyway, we need about 7 new players.

    Go Sparky.

I thought Bothroyd did play well. Although he should get into the box more often!

It depends what his job is. If it's to hold the ball up because as a team we're too slow (which we are) then he does a decent job. Rarely does he lose the ball and he has good balance on his left. If we improve the side with more pace and skill then I agree, he isn't suited as he would slow the game down too much.

FActo, a loan may do him a confidence booster as currently i would have him last out of all our strikers.

To be honest I dont think Bothroyd had too bad a game but he is extremely low on confidence and it really shows

Buzacky looed really pissed off to be subbed and made his point by doing the fastest sprint all night to the bench I expect to show us all that he was not injured and it seemed a strange decision to take him off when he was about to take a corner

saw the same game as you mate..thought Bothroyd was scared of the ball and when he did get it he was toilet. Buzz played well considering thats 2 games in 3 days and i thought Ferdinand had a decent game too.Oh and Mackie was toilet so i dunno how people are saying he played well!

I have to agree with you this time on Bothroyd depsite me starting a thread yesterday to back him. Buzsaky with Barton next match will be a good combination.

I think awful is a bit harsh Jeffro, but i agree with your thoughts.Jay, has a few flashes when he looks good but seems to have that...not interested look that Waddle had(without his skill)...The amount of times i saw his thumb go up..but he never got the ball....He also looks and plays a bit like Macheda...who i thought looked poor as well last night.

I thought Akos looked good on the ball and i would keep him for a squad player.....but and it may have been because we played Sunday, i thought we were shocking last night.

Good we have Barton back....but can I have fans opinions on Mackie please?

Don't get me wrong, cannot knock the block and for me...a good impact player from the bench.But...he just seems to run into dead ends and corners and players...If we brought back Hogan from Charlton and he wanted to see every player...why not give him a run out...Last night would have been prime opportunity...He has been playing in that league against the Dons all season.

I think Bothroyd looked ok. Not great, but he's clearly lacking confidence. He needs to get rid of the ball quicker, but it was one of his better games for us.

I agree on Buzz. I thought he looked very good considering his lack of match practice. Their midfield closed him down very quickly, and he did well to turn away and play a pass before he was tackled most of the time. His deliveries were very good (Someone reckons he never beat the first man, which is a load of pony), and he played some good balls out wide. He needs a better player in there with him to help him out. I hate to #### Derry as he's been a good servant for us in the short time he's been here, but time has caught up with him, and thePremiership is too much for the man. Not his fault, so let's not all get on his back.

It's clear we need at least 4-5 players to stay up. CB, LB, CM, LM and CF at least, but we could do with another CB, RB and CF if we're honest.

Must admit the Buzsaky one baffled me. Played well all night, was lively, good set pieces & was our most creative player which we lack big time.

Can only think Sparky had one eye on Saturday & with Buzz not being fully fit didn't want to run him into the ground.

sorry not been reading the threads here much since the game.

Are some people really saying JB played "WELL".

If playing well means he wasn't as awful as usual - then he played well. But playing well to me means looking like a good player, making good runs, looking for the ball, supporting, helping out and taking chances.

Didn't see much of that. And don't give me "holding the ball up". That is hardly the most valuable skill of a striker...especially when playing at home to a lower league side.

I haven't added that he actually had chances and clearly made the wrong choice with one, but players do miss, so that isn't the worst of it for me - it's everything else. In fact I am sure he can run faster than he does half the time.
