That we NEVER see off teams from lower leagues with ease. Never, never, never. The last time I recall was when Gary Waddock scored in our thrashing of Crewe in a League Cup game many moons ago. So why the surprise ?
We made hard work of the game but SWP should gave have had the game wrapped up before half time.
Players were heavy legged. Buzsacky probably played more time in three days than he has played for much of the past few seasons. Amazing free kick but reality is that his pace has gone following those two cruel injuries. Play him in the middle with Derry and you are going to be short of pace.
Players seemed frightened to have the ball as fans would put them under pressure. Fans tonight were in the main every bit as poor as the players.
The team is clearly lacking confidence. Hughes can turn them around but the fans have a HUGE part to play particularly at home games.
