I thought bid had been accepted and we just had to agree terms. If so then the above news is old.

Geezer that does all the transfer rumours on Talk Sport said yesterday that he had been told Alex was a done deal last week and that for some reason or another it wasn't gonna be announced til Tuesday.

His family are well settled in London and do not want to move which played a large part in him coming.

Good news if true, suppose by tonight we will know.

Maybe an announcement or unveiling at the game tonight?

He is the signing i really want and ASAP. Once a player of his calibre chooses QPR, more will follow as it shows we are serious, and come on guys and gals, we shouldn't be near the relegation zone with the players we have. Once we add some, we will pull away, and people will see that, so don't think they'll be afraid to come to us for fear of the drop. That's especially true of players who've worked with MH before and really rate him, they'll be confidnt he can do better than the clubs around us in half a season.

If there's any truth in this, i can only think it may have been Chelsea dictating this while they were still haggling with Bolton on a price for Cahill. IF Bolton thought they still had Alex then they may think Chelsea could decide to pull out of the deal and don't need to go higherlso they accept a more realistic bid.

If Alex had gone, Bolton would know they definietly need another defender and hold out fo another £1m for Cahill.....

                            Win for Chelsea
                            Win for us
Bolton lose out.... another win for us given circumstances.

                            Who knows, but feasible.

Chelsea and Bolton AGREED the fee for Cahill over 2 weeks ago !!!

The reason the deal took so long was Cahill was being a greedy c hunt asking for £ 100 k /week !!
