Always quite rated jay, possibly lower league form though and was pleased when we got him with considering the financial restraints that were being Put on at the time. Seems to have all the attributes of a half decent player. Seen glimpses of what he can do but not enough. Doesn't seem 100% up for it for every minute he's on the pitch which you need in the prem. would love to see him have a great run of form, but to me I think his going to be another player picking up a decent salary just going through the motions when he could do a lot better.

He needs a partner upfront. As I see it he is crying for support from midfield also. How frustrating isnīt it when you GOT to score because when "I dont nobody else will do" (Phsycology)He is not a slow player but struggles as the rest of the team ATM.
This affect every player. Even Luke Young and Kenny as a matter of "fact"
Having said this we still need a decent striker; Kenwyne Jones,RSC springs to mind in addition to a midfielder with speed, positional sense and a good shoot in him.

I don't think he's particularly lazy but his running style and general demeaner give than impression, by that i mean the Italian esque sulky feeling sorry for himself face everytime he doesn't get a decision. He needs to chop that from his game and get on with it, like HH would.... chase the player don't bemoan the decision.

Also, the most annoying thing about him is he just needs to be brushed to fall over, blimey he's what 6ft 3 or something and my 3 yr old daughter could muscle him off the balll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If MH can sort his shooting out and make him man up a bit, he could be a great player.

I agree, thatīs something he and others in the team have to get rid on. They have to concentrate on winning the next ball instead.

No, he was really bad at Cardiff as well in the second half of their season, the part when it really counted. Not one Cariff fan shed a tear when he left - the tone was 'good riddance' after his showing. A Cardiff mate of mine said we'd signed a donkey.

He moves around the pitch like someone's tied his laces together.

                      Clarke >>>>>> Ageymang >>>>>>> Hulse >>>>>>>>>> Bothroyd

We keep selecting these lanky lame strikers who cant strike a ball or have good ball control

Seen enough of Bothroyd last season and this season to know he aint a great striker and dont think he will improve as thats his style of play. LAZY

My main gripe is that he's lazy. That winds me up.

I think he has the ability, he is very very low on confidence and said he was struggling on his Twitter after the Newcastle game.

I won't rip him to pieces as thats no use to anyone, but his laziness and lack of urgency really p****s me off- someone that isn't scoring should be busting a gut for there team.

However with Hughes in charge, I ope we will see an improvement.

His natural position is striker. If you remember the Man City game, he was a threat scoring and hitting the post because we used 2 strikers. The same goes with the Spurs game when he was introduced. Against Newcastle depsite missing chances, when did he got chances before? He was unlucky not to score in the first half. Yes he missed an easy one inside the box, but every strker misses (Torrres?). Trust me he will come good soon.

Remember how Helguson was crticised before?

He just needs to take those clown shoes off then maybe he might find the net

On the basis MH was a top, top striker, he would have been livid with the casual way HMS Bothroyd volleyed over, when he only had to side foot/cushion the ball into the goal, and I bet he had words as to why he went near post (when he actually got a powerful shot away), when he should have gone across the goal.

I remember all this give him time / give him a chance / he will come good chit chat on here after his sloppiness and bad finishing cost QPR FC 2points v Newcastle at home, but on Sundays showing, he has not got any better and IMO wont get any better and needs replacing with someone who can sore goals.

After saying that, if he plays tonight i hope he scores the winner.

Fair point, those two attempts were woeful- but are probably a sign of a player with absolutely no confidence playin in a team with absolutely no confidence. To be fair he had one effort that hit the post, but other than that it was a typical Bothroyd performance.

Lets face it, if TF and co are serious about making us a real force, Bothroyd will be replaced. But we will need him over these next 5 months.

Bothroyd does have a shocking tendancy to lean back and sky the ball, pretty shockign really as basics. Hughes will work on him and could improve his game massively.

Things like this that cost us goals also detract from other thins, such as the fact it was a brilliant assist from HH for that gaping effort. In that situation most players wouldn't have even seen Bothroyd and headed across goal but he put it on a plate and we know the rest. The more frustrating thing with the miss was he had an age and space to get it on his left foot if he wanted to, but he lashed at it which is a sign of a stricker lacking in confidence.
