Shaun Derry apologises for Yohan Cabaye tackle: EXCLUSIVE
Shaun Derry apologises for Yohan Cabaye tackle: EXCLUSIVE
Shaun Derry has offered an apology to Yohan Cabaye for the tackle that saw the Newcastle playmaker carried off on Sunday as QPR made a losing start to life under Mark Hughes.
When I watched it I didn't think it was that bad and actually thought Cabaye was making a meal of it trying to get Derry sent off, obviously he was hurt and had to be replaced! I still think a yellow was fair, it was more awkward than anything butthe yellow card shackled Derry and indirectly led to their goal due to 2 shunned challenges on Derry's part!
Wernt he straight back on his feet after the tackle to give derry a push before hitting the deck again in agony?
Thought initially it was a good tackle but seeing the replay he did catch him. Nothing malicious, and no intent to hurt, just something that happens in football.
Agree too with the above, it affected derry's game afterwards.
Pulled out of quite a few tackles, giving them a lot more time and space on the ball. Shame
