  • Worrying lack of pace

With every passing week and when you watch Swansea and Norwich and all the other teams the most noticeable difference is pace

We built a team in the championship that had none we came into the pl with none and yes we added traore and swp but not enough for this league

Were too slow passing and moving and that's why we just don't create enough chances cos we are just not quick enough, it's this realisation that makes menthink that even with mark Hughes unless we get some serious pace in next week we are going to remain in serous trouble for a long while

Just look at Swansea and what pace gives you

Massive oversight in preparing for the pl we didn't think

Only players with pace we had today was Young, Swp and Mackie who offered nothing

could'nt agree more. very static looking team. bothroyd played ok today but when we play it up to him its normally with his back to goal and it slows everything up. he never seems to be playing on the shoulder of the centre half ready to spin off from a ball over the top or slid through. helg is never going to be that player and the jury is out on macheda(looks simaler to bothr if you ask me).if swp breaks through he either loses the rest of the team with his pace or loses the ball with another c rap touch. has to get a decent left midfielder in with pace as well as a cm.

Probably fair comment, I suppose in relation to the others he looks half quick. Will always have a big soft spot for Buz and be grateful to Derry for last season but that has to be the most static midfield pairing in the prem league this season by a country mile.

That´s true, and add SWP to that list . But anyway,we have to trust Hughes and the players he will bring in, And Don´t underestimate the fact that he and his staff will make the squad much fitter during the next few weeks.

This was a game were he wanted to give everyone a last chance to stay in the team or even in the squad, I guess.
I could be wrong but, that´s the way I look at it anyway.

                Bring on MK Dons!!

Your dead right , no pace through the middle at all, and very little in the whole squad. Thats why teams like Newcastle will allow qpr to play in front of them, because we cant get in down the sides or play through them with pace. We are a easy side to play against at the moment, pace kills you and we need some and quickly.

SWP has it - but can only use it in his right position. Wasn't played there again today.

Every time ive seen him this year cant remember him isolating a full back and taking him on and getting away from him, i reckon he's lost a yard of pace.
By the way this has to play on the right thing with SWP, He played on the left for Chelsea and Man City and England..

Whats happened since? He's to good to only be able to play on the right , and as ive said its not as if he's never played anywhere else in his career.
