Exactly. Other than that he did nothing. Yet to some because he worked hard he was one of our better players. Some are far too easily pleased.

As I said not a Mackie fan but was one of our better players today for the following reasons.

Kept a good shape, often dropping in to cover Central areas in front of our back four, hence one shot on target for them.

Provided cover for the full back both in front and when their wide players tried to go wide to cross.

Was a constant outlet wide right stretching their centre halfs.

Pressed their midfield and back four once they entered our half forcing them to go backwards and hen long, once again hence their one shot on target.

I would get used to hard working Mackie type players, albeit with a bit more quality, as Hughes will demand nothing less.

Seems we watched a different game. I don't recall him doing all that.

Prehaps you saw what you wanted to see !!!

If he didn't do that how do you account for their lack of goal threat, don't know the stats but bet they had fewer shots in this game than any other this season.

did'nt see the game and only listened to the last 15 minutes on talksport, Alvin Martin said Mackie gives 100% but lacks the quality of a premiership player, unusual for an ex pro to be so blunt

Agree Matty thought Buz did well, certainly better than Derry and think he will keep his place for Wigan if no one else comes in.

Well you can believe what you want mate, but ex-pros are saying Mackie isn't good enough. Obviously you disagree.

If he's as good as you say he is, how come only West Ham have made an enquiry for him during this transfer window? And if he played as good as you say he did, I'm sure there'll be enquiries from other EPL clubs from tonight.

Their lack of goal threat I put down to a decent performance from our CBs today.

Did not say he was good enough just he was one of our better players today. If you believe only the centre backs performance dictates how many shots the opposition have then I am affraid I have no desire to continue this conversation.

                      Priceless!!!

Well Mackie is Mackie really - he will never be Iniesta. He runs and runs and in between runs he sometimes get lucky with his runs, but most of the time he just runs into 2 defenders with the ball or behind for a goal kick. Today he was above his average but as everyone else he didn't look like hitting the goal.

Reread what I wrote. I said their lack of goal threat, not how many shots they had. Ok pal, fair enough. We will have to agree to disagree. I think Mackie wasn't very good today, you seem to think he is. Cant recall exactly how many shots he had today, how many telling crosses he put into the box today, but I doubt very many. I'm sure you'll be able to tell me

Mackie would have been good in the ´70's.
