QPR can challenge for Premier League title, says Mark Hughes
QPR can challenge for Premier League title, says Mark Hughes
Mark Hughes has declared QPR could challenge for the Barclays Premier League title within the next 10 years. Becoming champions is the 'ultimate' ambition for the club.
Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes

Well that would depend how active Mittal wants to get with his chequebook in the next 10 years. If he was to decide at any time to have some fun, then it could be perfectly feasible as City and Chelsea before them have shown.
Mittals are not going to bank roll the club. The man with the money is not even interested in football at all.
On top of that clubs with tiny stadiums and lots of cash are still not going to get the best players. And for all those saying we can build a big new stadium - we don't have the fans to fill it. We have had the stadium debate probably 20 times on here in the last 2 years.
For us to challenge for the title would take many more years than 10, a change to the rules, Mittal to decide he wants to throw BILLIONs at the club and run at a loss (another Rule Change problem there), suddenly thousands more QPR fans to be born than normal for a prolonged period, more luck than you can shake 10 sticks at and the big clubs all being docked points.
Not a dig at our ambition or capability, but reality check. We have the SMALLEST ground in the league and can't fill it for most games. How on Earth can anyone make a statement like that when our owner is not super rich (in football terms) and there is no sign whatsoever that we are making regular and steady strides forward. We need to make progress in terms of league position like Stoke have for a few years before you talk yourself up.
I find the comments as embarrassing as Keane saying Blackburn will be chellenging for the Champions League.
