  • Are our bids serious?

£2m for Pienaar, £5m for Samba & £3m for Alex.

No matter how stupid some people are, nobody would accept that money for those players.

They are needed so why not just bid a sensible amount & get them on board?

When you look at it like that, it is pointless, I can personally bid 5 mil for Samba, because I know it will be turned down!!

Agree mate if we really want to get players we need to offer players a realistic sum of money otherwise we will end up getting desperate signings on deadline day

It's a statement of intent and a starter for 10.

That's how negotiatios work, have a price in mind, bid lower. The selling club then suggest a price normally higher than the figure you think is acceptable, and then you meet somewhere in the middle.

Does seem like we're trying to get quality players in but on the cheap- and in January this just isn't going to happen.

Gald we're making moves, but its obvious that clubs know how much money we have to spend and will take us to the cleaners given the opportunity.

Do you bifd the asking price for a house with your opening bid?

Anyway, it starts a process forcing the move to happen. Blackburn say Samba is not for sale, we are the only club to have made a formal bid for Samba, the player then says he wants to leave Blackburn. We go back in with a higher bid and Blackburn have to get the best offer they can for a wantaway player

I'd rather get good players in. The problem with getting 'quality' players is that they might be of poor 'quality'
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

We've had Months of NW & TF bemoaning the lack of time we had after the take-over to bring players in last August (3-4 days). The way its going the same will apply again with all activity being rushed through at the very end.

How's it obvious how much money we have to spend... none of us know and we follow everything QPR religiously.

there have been reports in the media of anything from £10m - £30m, and MH has deliberately played down any talk of big money.

Maybe the point of putting in what would be perceived low bids, is to give the impression we haven't got that much to splash.

There are quite a few reasons why it is going to be harder in january to get players in...despite having longer.

At the begining of the season, newly promoted teams are looked at and players may decide to gamble...now...they can see we are 4th from bottom with a very realistic chance of going down, so players will not jump so quickly.

As someone has mentioned...If, for example, Samba is priced at 5 mill...and we bid 5 mill....blackburn are going to turn round and stall for more.Which is why it differs from buying a house.Samba may want out....but blackburn don't have to sell...at moment.So...we put fee in and test their resolve...and yes....unless the player is not wanted etc....it will go to the wire again...

Which makes the situation of Alex very clear....he doesn't want to come to us...as we could be playing Championship footy next season... a move he fears could be his last.

Oh...and they know that we are desparate to get players in...
The biggest problem.Money.No matter what papers ...twitters have been saying...clubs know we have money and will try to extort as much as possible from us....

Although we are in good position with having money...its not helping us get players at the moment.

Samba Pienaar Alex and all the others...will go to the wire i expect...Players like bridge....its about the money....

Its going to be a long long january and im afraid as fans we are going to get more and more frustrated.

So far in the premiership 15 players have joined new clubs and 7 are loans and one free (Scholes) Notta lot is happening.

Whilst it may be the rule of negotiating, those are unrealistic bids and a total waste of time.

£5M, £7.5M and £4M would have been nearer the valuation although may still have been rejected.

QPR also need a back up keeper and a striker as well as a central midfield player to replace Faurlin.

The way this is going QPR will be rushing around again like they were on 30 & 31 August, and by the time the window closes QPR could be on the bottom and out of the FA Cup, and then it will be even harder to convince any half decent player to join and end up doing another Puncheon like deal.
