  • QPR told to up offer for Alex

CHELSEA manager Andre Villas-Boas admits unsettled defender Alex could be on his way to west London rivals QPR – but only at the right price.

“There has been an approach from a Premier League club. We have respected Alex’s transfer request so the market is open for him,” said the Portuguese.

“We’re just trying to reach the level of proposal we think is good for the player. Nothing has happened up to now, but we’ll listen to all offers.

“We’ll present anything to the player. He has to make a decision. He has generated interest from a lot of clubs.”

Still think £3.5 million is a good price for him. Especially when you think of the money they spent on the kn*b Luiz.

Couple of papers saying he won't even move to us- if he can get him for £3.5m it would be an absolute steal.

A brazilian internation CB who has played Champions League for years for more than one club, and is only 29, on paper is worth a lot more then £3.5m.

If he'd been playing more regularly the fee would be nearer £10m, especially when you consider Cahill is going for £7m with only a few months on his contract before he's a free agent, but was priced at £17m in the summer, Samba is supposedly gonna be about £8-10m and neither of them has the experience of Alex.

Maybe is worth more but too many players being over priced and sure his fitness was questioned

Yeah problem is we dont play on paper do we...we play on grass..

..also Brazil aint exactly known for thier defence are they.....?

Personally..I'd rather Cahill. Never rated alex and his lack of games at chel**** has proved me right...

Let him go back to some nothing team in S- America....

This guy couldnt get above an ageing, past it john terry..

                    NO THANKS....!

Maybe, but not him. The fact (if they wanted to come, which they possibly don't) we could sign Alex, Onoura, Bassong and Bridge for the price Blackburn want for Samba, suggests it's not Alex that's overpriced.

He's also a free in less then 6 months... Wonder what Chelsea offered for Cahill... Subtract 3 million from that and that's the fee.

Brazil have some very good defenders actually, it's just the national team play with such attacking intent that they sometimes leak a few goals. That doesn't mean all Brazilian defenders can't defend.

Cahill is a done deal for Chelsea, so a pointless debate.

As for Alex's lack of games proving you're correct to not rate him is ludicrous. Probably 90% of chelsea fans would rather he played than Luiz, who is a clown. He doesn't becasue Luiz is an AVB signing and he needs to play him to save face.

Also the bit about not getting above JT... well that's more a case of Chelsea's blind stubborness failing to see / admit that JT isn't all they make him out to be and they will never drop him no matter how many miustakes he makes. When he played with Carvalho it made JT lood good. Carvalho was the better player by far. Now he's playing with Luiz, he is being shown up as a little better than average, nothing more.

mate, i've read your post and dont agree with most of it..but thats opinions eh?
neither of us are wrong so thats it.
Personalym, never rated Alex as a top defender ( no doubt he;'s good) and never really bought int o the "because he's brazilian he must be good" thing

Bazils defence is shocking, you can name Cafu, etc but that was along time ago....

Agian...personally..English ? italian defenders are the best in the world at defending......just a shame they doint attack

Alex is a great ball playing defender in the mould of bec kenbaur and dare i say rio ferdi..but like RF he always gives the oposition a chance...

TBH wouldnt mind him, just dont buy into the hype !!

                              each to thier own.....
