    Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed that QPR are leading the way in the race to sign Alex. Villas-Boas said on Thursday that the club had received an offer from a rival Premier League club.

      am i the only person worried about alex's match fitness if we sign him? when did he last play for chelsea?
      i supported qpr in the glory days when chris kiwomya and michael ngonge played up front

        I think he'll be fine personally. Any fringe player from another club will take a few games to get to their match sharpest, but hey, an Alex at 80% is still a massive improvement over Gabbidon. Don't get me wrong, i think Gabbidon has been fine this year, but Alex is a Brazil international who's without doubt Champions League standard CB.
