I actually think that TF probably lost a lot of respect for NW because he was never prepared to accept or admit his own failings, prefering to constantly make excuses.

IMO, TF, like most business people would rather people working for them to take responsibility for their actions, if you're going to take the praise then accept the failures also. NW never did that, was always making excuses and looking for scapegoats rather than identifying the problems and resolving them... it's a sign of weakness imo.
