Is it a coincidence that 'Arry bids for Samba just as Dawson gets back in the team from injury? It could be that he has had the info that Dawson may never be fully fit again?

Why else would he need yet another CB with 4 or 5 others to choose from in a 25 man squad, it doesn't add up? I think it may be that Dawson is crocked.

I havent read the rest of this thread, but my take on it is this:

£7m+ is TOO MUCH for a club of our size to fork out for a CB in his 30's.

Especially when we would be greasing the transfer funds of a relegation rival.

I say let him go to Spurs who are pushing for the title and CL spots.

Then we can buy Alex and Bassong for 6m the pair.

Rather that than invest SO MUCH MONEY in one Defender. Who could easily get injured.

No re-sell value. Spurs will have money to burn if they get into the CL again. So it doesnt matter to them.

      Lets be sensible about this.

          Oops LOL, my bad.

Still think its too much and we are doing it for the publicity.

          He wants "a change".

I would guess this means - no thanks to a relegation scrap.

Think he will go elswhere. Happy to be proved wrong but not so happy for £7m+.

I have to agree. For that amount of money I'd much rather go for Alex & Onuoha, and use money wisely for a good striker and replacement for Faurlin

He's going somewhere, so no matter who pays the price, Blackburn will receive some money to strengthen in this window.

Hopefully, their Andy Johnson bid will succeed

I think whatever money they generate will be going straight to Barclays as they've been ordered to pay about £10m by end of Jan i think.....

I think the Venkys also have to pay some other money for something else but can't remember....

I think this type of thinking is what lose NW his job sack as I think he wanted to maximise value for money by buying 3 players for this amount and having a backup plan IF we got relagated. TF and the board did not want to hear any plans for relagation and only want to plan for being in the top half of the premiership therefore only wanted to look at this calibre of signings, hence why they kept saying Mark Hughes ambition match theirs (as he is not interested in signing 3 players when he can get 1 top class).

For what its worth I agree I would much rarther use the money to strengthen 2 or 3 postions, but its not my money and would not say no!

If Vidic wasn't out for the season, Rio Ferdinand would have been a possible imo

I like that bit where Samba has been quoted saying he wants to join a club with ambition!

Surely if he was determined on a move to Spurs he'd say something along the lines of playing in the champions league?

IMO, the reason behind his sacking was more a result of HOW he neglected tactics, style of play and a tendency to regularly play his signings out of postion.

                                Sorry, Sir Neil
