  • Hughes and Barton

By reading a lot of the stuff put out by pundits and the like in the last couple of days, it's reasonable to conclude that Hughes and his team take absolutely no tosh off of any of the players under them.

Recently, if the reliable ITK's and the likes of Ian Wright are to be believed, then there may have been a bit of so called "player power" creeping in under the Warnock regime - most likely led by Joey Barton.

So the question is: How are Hughes and Barton likely to get along?

For example: Have they worked together before? What was it like?

Is it a coincidence that Barton goes off twitter for a week just as MH is appointed?

Maybe. But I don't think that any of the players have tweeted about the apointment of Hughes. For example, SWP has been on there a few times in the past couple of hours and said nothing.

Was told to shut it by club officials.

Trying to entice a top manager at the same time as him having a childish spat on Twitter was hardly ideal nor professional.

Lol. That puts an end to that attempt at empire building then!

But in all seriousness - hopefully Joey embraces the challenge and thrives.

Mentioned it before but consider some of the biggest egos, loudmouths and 'difficult' players who have played under him - Savage, Bellamy and Tevez - and they all highly rated Hughes and did what they were told. The latter two protested to the City board when he was sacked and Mancini never won them over.

I think the pseudo-intellectual scally should "shut it" permanently.

Cant help but get the impression Barton almost lacked abit of respect for Warnock and his coaching staff? He seemed, to me anyway, have the theory that he was almost "doing us a favour" by being here? Whereas now, with Sparkie, I think Joey will have alot more respect for the gaffer and (especially) his coaching staff, with (fingers crossed) the result being alot more influential performances on the pitch from our skipper
