To be honest I can see where he is coming from, yes we were Champions and yes we deserved to be, as nobody else took the opportunity BUT 1 win at home from end of March was strange form for Champions for sure.

Yes I think a lot of that was the Faurlin saga but we could have been promoted 6 games earlier than we actually were, had we been a touch more ruthless aka 1982 side !!!!

We were though the best side over 46 games, as proved by never being out of Top 2 all season.

He makes some valid points but does not accept any blame

3 questions he needs to answer if he feels blameless is:

      1. Why play Mackie every game?
      2. Why play certain players out of there position like swp?
      3. Why refuse to play 2 upfront?

Bit disappointed with some of Neil's comments. He came in clearly saying he'd get us promoted sooner than later and give credit where credits due he did just that.

His comments about there should be more 'football' people in higher places at the club just stinks of excuses. He wasn't good enough and never has been for PL level. Lets face it if TF etc had not bought the club NW would have been sacked after the first game by Briatore! So the 'none' football people as he puts it have given him a fair crack at the whip but he fell short
22nd February away v Charlton is the 40th Anniversary of my support of QPR and my first game. Away v Chelsea 3-3 23rd Feb 1974. 40 years of pure magic!!

What I'm saying is on paper we were nowhere near good enough to go up, but because of warnock, and of course Adel, we did. Not saying we didt deserve it, but at the beginning of the season not one personon this planet would have genuinely thought we we good enough to be champions!!!

the one thing i agree with that, is that we were promoted too early.

Honest opinion. I don't think we would of stayed up with Neil. The Premier League you NEED a tactics manager, not a motivation manager. Sorry Neil
              Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
              And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

So why , when we were sitting pretty at the top of the table, did he not get better players in during the January window, that would have made us even stronger title contenders and stronger for the PL?

I agree at the start of last season we'd have taken a play-off place, but anyone who was at Derby could see that something very special was about to unfold. NW could have strengthened then but chose not too. Perhaps another decision he now regrets?

I think you are forgetting who owned the club and if they would have allowed him to strengthen.

Brendan Rogers and Paul Lambert understand that, hence the reason why they've done better than us with, on paper, worse players.

That, in a nutshell, has always been Warnock's weakness, and the reason why he's never made it as a top-class manager. Call it a mental block, but its a basic concept that he has never been able to grasp, and one which he's now paid the ultimate price for by losing his job.
                    Good comment.

But also did understand what the previous poster said about our squad should never have been promoted. Take Tabs out of the team - which has been the case for most of the season with his mind elsewhere - and we were just an average championship side with a good work ethic.

Ok, true. If we had won Norwich, we would have Warnock. Football isn't fair always. Remember when sir Alex started badly in ManU and only one win aparted him from being sacked. Therefore I have only one question to Neil Warnock: Why did you prefer Mackie to SWP?

Could it be as a kind of punishment
Cant find a better reason really.

I will never ever forget Sir Neil, but I´m not sure he would have chosen the right tactics even with new players at his disposal.
At a guess, I should believe TF and his advisors eventually got the same feeling and reacted accordingly.

The king is "dead". Long live the king.

PS. I really hope Warnock will continue to write for the independent as usual,

You have summed up the mood of The QPR nation perfectly with your words of poetic justice.
Teardrop explodes have started qprted, you have the power and authority to start a petition for a permanent statue of Sir Neil be erected at the entrance to Ellerslie to make entry into the ground even more problematic, the statue could play U2s in the name of love.
My heart is broken since the news of the departure of our King but as Fleetwood Mac once sang sometimes you have to go your own way.
                          To Neil, thank you.

                          Seconded

Personally I will here and now dedicate "The long and winding road" to Sir Neil.

The king of deflecting the blame, blame all around you, never your fault, always a hard luck story to, look in the mirror Mr Warnock...
By the way well done for the promotion, it was a truly great season...

Shania...or maybe he thought it was his debt, because of the injury.

Excatly, that´s where he failed. Our midfield in particular got strected and eventually exposed time and time again. And he didnt react to it at all.
