Neil deserves a lot of praise for what he did for the club, but I'm convinced we would have been relegated had he stayed on,guess we will never know

He's missed out on Yeovil now !

There's a certain amount of spin in suggesting several of the current squad were relegation bound. Clever wording as HH was at Watford, Buzz & Hall were long term injuries and Taarbs wasn't ours ( but he bourght him !)
Leaving Cerny, Connolly, Faurlin from his 25 this season.
But I get the point under Hart & Harford we were in freefall and destined to drop.

And IMO as well as Barton incident (1st time he's showed any bottle/fight) we lost twice to Norwich mostly because of 2 clever substitutions by Lambert. Like him or loathe him, he got both games right. We (or NW) didn't.

That all said, I agree with much of this interview. I'm grateful for the good stuff and wish him well. Time to move on.

Neil Warnock: QPR need new players over a new manager

Former QPR manager Neil Warnock believes transfer window recruits will be more important to the club's survival battle than a new boss. Mark Hughes has held talks over succeeding Warnock at Loftus Road.

We were doing ok until Neil decided his favourites were more important followed by incorrect formations, playing players outside their best and in some cases only positions also some terrible substitutions.
He lost it in the end and we were on a downward spiral.
Who knows whether he would have kept us up, what if he had been allowed to spend all this money and then played these out of their positions or a wrong formation, no change then what more excuses. TF did what he had to do, 3 wks left of the transfer window it has been done at the right time.
Thanks to Neil, we wouldn't be here in the prem if it weren't for him but he has taken us as far as he could, no doubt he will be successful in the champs with another team looking for promotion.

I was going mental at the chelski game because we were not marking their players up, leaving czech free to roll out from the back, and then find the wide players with ease. As you all know we could have easily dropped points in that game. And the fact that during that second half he never once came out to the touchline to enforce tactics or change things.

He makes some fair points and I do feel sorry for him, he did do everything asked of him and more - getting us up with some frankly very, very average players was a mega achievement. But in some ways he was his own worst enemy of late - if he looked a bit more angry when we lost, worked harder with the coaching staff to get more out of the players, perhaps hired a technical coach such as a Wilkins and kept more on top of his job the last month or so when it was clearly going badly he wd probably still be in a job.

7 times he won promotion for various teams, and that is exactly were Neil excels. Give him a team with a chance of going up and he delivers. However, his record with a team battling relegation isn't as good, as it requires a different kind of motivating skill, so I think it was the right decision he went, but I will forever be grateful for what he did.

Unfortunately, he's not calm and controlled under pressure, and I think he panics and makes stubborn and bizarre decisions on subs, selections, etc when things aren't going his way or he is out of ideas. He is constantly 'avin a go' at the 4th official, it's his style, but then picks on one of his own players at the end to blame publicly, like Connolly, Traore, or Faurlin, which showed poor self control, should have been done privately. Goodness knows what kind of bo11ocking players got behind the scenes if he does that in public, no wonder there are rumours he lost respect of the dressing room.

Precisely, reminds me of the song:
I was gonna clean my room until I got high
I was gonna get up and find the broom but then I got high
My room is still messed up and I know why
                        (Why man?)
Because I got high, because I got high, because I got high
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

We didn't have the right players?

How many did Norwich and swansea bring in? Not that many IIRC.

In fact aren't some of their players still there from league one?

I wish I could find it (it's on my PC somewhere!) but I've got a photograph taken at Loftus Road of all the new players NW brought in at the end of the transfer window and it was sufficient to put out an entire team in pretty much their correct positions without using ANY of the existing squad!

The problem was towards the end we looked like we were a lower league team playing away from home at against higher league opposition. And that was when we were playing at home! Our firs few games were great and we seemed to be playing in a style reminiscent of DiCanio and we were winning plaudits from the pundits. then we just seemed to resort to a style where our passing game was non-existent. Defensive headers would just be in the general direction of "away from our goal" and not to anyone in particular, which usually meant their midfield would pick it up and start their attack again. We didn't close down and just sat back. This is completely different to Norwich. Watch the home game back and you'll see what I mean. As soon as they lost the ball they closed down to prevent us from getting into their half until eventually, inevitably, we misplaced a pass and they were on the attack again. Other teams had figured this out too. Because we couldn't play it out...we just bypassed the midfield altogether and hoofed it up to Heider. There was no plan B. Plan B should have been what plan A was as the start of the season.

We WERE champions and we won it on merit with points to spare. The final table didnt lie.

We were the best team - that was clear as daylight.

We were doing exactly that all of last season too - thats Warnock's style, always has been. The difference is in the Championship you can get away with doing that and still win games. The premiership is a totally different kettle of fish, its much more about retaining possession.

Brendan Rogers and Paul Lambert understand that, hence the reason why they've done better than us with, on paper, worse players.

That, in a nutshell, has always been Warnock's weakness, and the reason why he's never made it as a top-class manager. Call it a mental block, but its a basic concept that he has never been able to grasp, and one which he's now paid the ultimate price for by losing his job.
