It actually shows that he listened to what Mr Beard was saying today - because Beard himself refered to us last night as a project - I went off on a bit of a hissy about it here last night only to be told by the footballing experts that I was a bit of a **** because that's what football is nowadays
Well I still disagree, yes we can be a business venture if they like but we are still a football club not a phukin project
I hear what you are saying Blue but if you want all that salt of the earth, I don't do email me, real football is all about waving rattles and standing on the terraces at Bramal Lane munching chip butties etc etc then we should have stuck with Warnock. The attraction of Hughes is precisely that he is ambitious and wants us to be too.
He wants to do well and needs to know if the visions at QPR meet he's own, this could be one of the best moves we make and he could end up being here a very long time.
He has ambitions & doesn't want to be at a club that will struggle to compete. Nothing wrong with that guys.
He has pedigree. Was told he had given a gentlemans agrrement to PB that he will sign so we will see if that's the case. I'm confident.
Watching the interview , thought it was what you expect , mark Hughes want a club with ambition and we have made our offer of what we think ambition looks like and he's going to think about it overnight
Nothing wrong with that, nothing wrong with him wanting a club with ambition , he will not want a relegation on his cv and wil want to ensure we dint want that aswel
Personally thought the interview didn't sound like someone who wasn't going to take the job
IF he turns it down now with all the public interviewing by the club, it would be massively embarrassing for our heirarchy. Any other choice now would certainly be second, third or fourth choice - not good with an *ambitious* club like ours...
This thread is brilliant, it could have been written by the 2 old guys from the muppets! Hughes has gone from the new messiah to someone to big for his boots who thinks he's doing us a favor in 10 pages! Brilliant!
From the Independent. Tallys up with what I said earlier about him giving Philip Beard his assurance he'd sign.
'The 48 year-old has already agreed in principle to succeed Warnock, and was signing his contract on Monday night, but wanted assurances that Rangers will spend the funds, not only to save themselves from relegation but eventually to become a Premier League force'
