Who do we reckon Hughes will select as his team captain?

Kick up the arris for Barton if he takes it off him

My guess would be a good steady experienced pro that's likely to feature regularly - Luke Young.

Mind you, I can hear the presser now - model professional, hard working and the best pro in the club so Jamie Mackie will be my captain:-

Just how many bags of chips would that piddle on

Shame Ali got injured (for more than just this reason), thought he lead the side well on Saturday

Hughes will not tolerate Barton's attitude, but I think he will leave him as captain and give him some things to think about, like his constant embarrassment of himself and the club on Twitter.

If he does not tow the line he will replace him with a new captain, and rightly so IMHO.

It's allegedly in Bartons contract that he has to be captain.

Faulrin is not a skipper IMO. My choice would be young or ferdinand

Barton any day, no matter what you lot say, he's one of the most experienced premier league players we have.

Luke young would be a good captain but it would be pointless changing captain in mid season.

I don't think Hughes would come in and take the armband off Barton straight away. My choice would be Luke Young, comsumate professional.

I'm a great believer that your captain needs to be able to be involved in influencing the game, no matter where the ball is on the pitch, which is why i'd prefer the CB or CM. Luke oungs a good shout but not always involved.

Before you say it, yes i know it can and has worked in the past with other clubs !!
