  • I am starting to warm to Mark Hughes coming here

Would much rather have let Warnock stay but we must move on etc and I am now starting to think Hughes could be just what we need

A no nonsense hard man who will not allow any shirking or sulking by our players and seems to be very methodical in what he does

I can imagine him really geeing players up before a game and giving the hairdrier treatment at halftime if his gameplan is being ignored

A respected manager and a very decent player in his time should hopefully get players wanting to come here

He will do a very good job imo. He has only finished in the bottom half of the prem in 1 season of all those he has managed and that was his first season at blackburn I believe.

They are an impressive set of stats aren't they - but I winced when I heard he drew his first 7 games at Foolham - if he did that here it may well see us doomed

I think he will do the job for us! Mark Hughes will do very well for us!!

The good thing with Mark Hughes is when he was at Fulham and Blackburn he made his team hard to beat and we need a strong defence to keep the goals out.

Our best realistic defence after signings could be:

            FBL: BRIDGE CD:COLLINS CD:FERDINAND FBR:YOUNG

            BENCH:TRAORE, GABBIDON AND HILL/ORR

              I can't wait. I'm really exited
              Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
              And many more mistakes

LES FERDINAND, IT'S TIME TO GO

I cant believe any person would not be excited about Hughes coming to W12 and it will be interesting how the egos in the changing room settle down.

One thing that always happens when a new manager comes in and shakes things up, is that someone who was not given a go, is given a go and everyone thinks wow. Who will that be because it will happen.

i am very excited about hughes also, but let me ask this...

those points you say about hughes not taking any **** from the players etc.

did we all not say the exact same thing about warnock pre-appointment? agreed he did put his foot down with several players but he apparently 'lost the dressing room'

im sceptical about our squad now more than ever.. think the chairman needs to ensure he backs the manager regardless what any player says/doesnt say.
Soldier: "im on reconnaissance sir.. im looking for our camouflage expert.. have you seen him?"
                      Lovejoy: "No?!"
Soldier: "GOD DAMNIT THAT GUYS GOOD!"

I get the impression that Warnock "lost the dressing room" through his championship-esque tactics and training regime (obviously not helped by a coulple of parny-heads putting the cones out).

Players like Barton,SWP and Young have played at the top level, big clubs and international and may demand abit more than ' quick lap of the field and a kickabout' during training.

I say this as a big Neil supporter who thinks he shouldn't have been sacked. But he was no nonsense with players in the Championship. TBH I think he got a bit too overawed by the names he'd signed

Correct mate, finished 6th the year after too, getting Blackburn into Europe as well as league n fa cup semis. Didnt realise until tday what a good record he had. Got Foolham ano 8th place finish in his year there too.

                              Hope we appoint him tbh.
