  • A good manager, but with limitations (Michael Hann, The Guardian)

Well worth reading. Actually saw the incident Hann refers to against Norwich. Hill came over to the touchline and could clearly be seen demanding / pleading Warnock do something.

Right beneath the Directors Box. Could be heard loud and clear.

Very good read that unfortunately for Warnock seems to be the truth. Our set pieces have always been shocking and we never had a plan b. Neil done an a amazing job to keep us up and then get us promoted but it was time for a change. Hopefully we get in the right man.

            Great article

That rabbit-in-the-headlights approach to strategy had become a feature at QPR. Why was Warnock picking only one striker at home, for a team struggling to score? Why were players being used out of position? Why was the willing but limited Jamie Mackie being used on the right wing instead of Shaun Wright-Phillips? Why was Adel Taarabt frozen out of the team for much of late autumn, when – for all the problems with him – he was the only midfielder capable of offering creativity to the team?

Fantastic piece and i think sums up Warnock very well. Was speaking to someone saturday involved in the game and he said that Neil needed a new coach to work along side him and maybe not surrounding himself with yes men, interesting comments after reading that.

So maybe that explains why he was never head-hunted for the prem during his career.
