  • Do you think we stand a better chance of attracting new players

    Now that NW is gone.

I know the bad run in the league is what cost him his job but at the same time I wonder if the club were thinking NW reputation wouldn't help the club to attract new players whereby someone like Mark Hughes would

Think the problem of attracting new players is as much about issues within the squad as with the manager. But hopefully Hughes will be strong enough to take ownership of the team.

As for players it cd cut two ways - Hughes wd look an ambitious appointment and he happens to have managed the three clubs where virtually all our previous targets are employed. But we are also looking a risky, unstable club sliding down the table. Players will have to take a gamble on whether they think Hughes can do for us what O'Neil has done for Sunderland. If we can get one really good marquee signing to kick off - Samba say - then I think more will follow. But if we don't land someone v gd quickly, panic cd set in. Be v interesting.

Huge risk isnt it! If we can't land some decent premier league ability, it will be interesting to see how a new manager copes with what we have

I did not hear that but it would not surprise me, NW is really not well liked outside Qpr

Mmm, not sure about that. Looking from the outside players will go where the money is with get out clauses etc. Offer enough they will come. Ok, with exceptions of the elite where money is totally irrelevant. Cant say I blame them really!

Santa Cruz, Dembele, player that I had heard of but he signed, Kompany.

I am sure a few more are out there that we don't know of.

In answer to your question, yes!

                        He signed Samba for 400k.

That is a valid point, NW was looking to spend big money on players everyone had heard about but not one out of left field, no scouting system.

MH has contacts in the game at the top end due to his years at this level, bless him, but NW has been at the ass end of the game for years and his contacts may have reflected that fact.

If Hughes gets the job, he might be able to sign good players, but |I think he is also good at organising teams to make them hard to beat.

QPR have been very poor at defending this season. and even last season, they looked a bit out of sorts despite the very good goals against total. There were many times where only great goalkeeping or last ditch tackles, blocks or clearances prevented goals.

This season the team is not even scoring goals, and clear chances created are few and far between.

Having said that, I am sorry in a way to see Warnock go because he did a gret job in bringing some stability to the club and promoted and who else would have stuck with T&C during the close season shenanigans?
