Its been a tough few weeks watching Rangers, especially Saturday.
- Poor performance
- QPR fans not happy
Then, yesterday, NW sacked and Ali Faurlin out for the season.
Firstly, I was slightly shocked that TF sacked NW, and if im honest I am slightly gutted to see him go. Purely because he is legend for what he did for us, hes done a great job.
However, I my heart says it was the right time for him to leave, I honestly think it was the right decision. To many factors IMO going against NW and QPR.
1. Our recent form has been awful - 2points picked up since we beat Stoke away.....
2. NW clearly lost the dressing room (A shame after such a great team morale last year) The team hasnt not been playing together recently, The MKDons game proved this, it really was poor!
3. NW isnt not a top flight manager sadly.
4. NW has no proven record spending money and IMO his real strength is with getting the best out of average players (sadly Derry, Mackie etc are not good enough) He had money to spend in August, all be it last minute, but we did bring in 4 top players who should be doing better.
5. Once we hit March, we have THE HARDEST run of games out of the teams who are in the relegation battle. It will be far to LATE to sack and bring a new manager in by then. (This was the right time)
6. A new manager now, will have a good run of games which we should/need to win, and has money to spend and bring in his own players.
7. Hughes does actually have a good record (I dont dislike him, nor do I like him, im on the fence but will get behind him) He did a good job at Blackburn, Fulham and City.
Its a tough decision to make, and TF has really shown his intentions. A lot of people have been moaning about the performances of late and now TF has done something about it, you best get behind the new boss, whoever it is!!
I appreciate the time TF has taken to answer questions via twitter, that takes some balls and is a big risk, he really has to be careful what he says. I think he and the rest of the board have acted correctly and have been fair to NW in this case.
You must remember that we last won a football match '2 MONTHS' Ago, since then we have lost/drawn games against teams that we SHOULD be beating in order to stay up. Its a hard league!
I feel like this will be the right decision for us, and hopefully in time results will pick up.
