...there's no guarantee we would stay up. Hughes is no better than Warnock. Newly promoted clubs regularly go down and then come back up again. Think West Brom, Birmingham, Sunderland, Wolves, Bolton etc. So there was always a good chance we would do the same. In which case, who is going to get us promoted again once we are down? If the board had really had a long-term strategy, they would have kept Warnock. Instead they are gambling...

It seems to be working for Sunderland but didn't work for West Ham last year. It's 50-50 whether it will work at all and that's no better odds than with Neil in charge. At least Warnock has experience of relegation battles. I just can't get excited about Hughes at all...

Hughes has managed Man City, Fulham, Blackburn ALL in the Premiership, he has far more Prem pedigree that Neil. I loved NW and thank him for what he has done but he was out of his depth in the Premier League, unfortunately. One win at home since March is just not good enough I am afraid, especially when those games include v Derby, Hull, Leeds, Bolton, Blackburn, Norwich, Villa, Newcastle, WBA !
