  • Steven Pienaar to QPR? Not unrealistic

I don’t think anybody doubts that Neil Warnock will be active this month, and don’t surprised if his busy January includes an enquiry into Steven Pienaar’s availability.

Left wing cover for Traore while he's away?...also plays in midfield so would cover Barton's suspension?..

Think we could do with a bit of quality everywhere really, and Pienaar is by far the best midfielder readily available right now in my opinion. Snap him up before one of our rivals does...

          Who says he's readilly available?

Either way, i'd much rather take Krancjar from the spurs bench / reserves as i feel he is the better player and offers much more.

Shows how strong Spurs squad is when Pienaar and Krancjar can't get a start.

Pienaar's been nowhere near playing even when Spurs have been hit by injuries. In fact it seems like Redknapp would rather play people out of position than accommodate him. So if he isn't available at very least on loan then what is he?

Re Kranjcar, don't get me wrong he's a great player on his day and would certainly improve the team but, much like Pavlyuchenko, in the position we find ourselves I wouldn't want to be relying on him to produce the goods on cue. Pienaar was a better player for a better side in Everton than Niko was at Portsmouth IMO.

Absolutely worth a try. SWP and Pienaar on the wings would be great. Get Benayoun, Aurelio, a striker and one of Bassong/Alex and we`ll survive.

Kranjcar and Pienaar both top top players that would, IMO, get into any club outside the top 6s starting 11.

IF we could get either of these, even on a loan deal, it would be a major coup for us.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

Be a great signing but fear this is wishful thinking. People say a striker and defender the priority and they are right - but I look at our midfield line up for Newcastle and even with those additions I'm looking at Mackie, Faurlin, Derry and SWP with presumably two up front and maybe only Buz on the bench - frightening really.

I agree. It's clear we need a big brute of a centre back but our midfield is the worry. NW must see that Derry and Mackie are not good enough for the prem. We need to get some quality into replace them, otherwise I hold out no hope of any points in next 2 premiership games.
