  • Neil Warnock wrong on Bradley Johnson - Paul Lambert

Norwich City boss Paul Lambert says QPR manager Neil Warnock was "totally wrong" to accuse Bradley Johnson of cheating to get Joey Barton sent off.

But Lambert responded: "If you go face-to-face with someone, there is a chance things can happen. I certainly don't think it is a full-blooded headbutt. That is not the issue I have a gripe with - it's the comments after.

"My player is not a cheat. He played with great discipline before and after the incident.

"But those after-match comments were wrong. Maybe when you get beat, you start to look for excuses and end up blaming everybody else."
Dumb idiot trying to defend a player thats seen cheating on camera for all to see

Says a lot about Lamberts integrity

      Dear Paul,
I think I speak for most qpr fans when I say that I don't like you or your team and I look forward to the day when your team is relegated, your club bankrupt and Johnson made to share his bed with Stephen Fry.
      Take care

Reminds me of Andre Village-Idiot's defence of John Terry! When you're in a hole (as the old saying goes), best to stop digging..

So he thinks Warnock blaming the officials & his player for feigning that he was headbutted
is not a game changing decision. We were leading 1-0 and doing ok, 1 sending off later it's all square.
It's not an excuse Lambert you dour, boring, miserable t**t it's a fact.

i actually agree with this comment from Lambert:

"Maybe when you get beat, you start to look for excuses and end up blaming everybody else."

Anyway, there was no need for hard man Barton to stick his face in Johnson's. If he uses his brain and avoids situation where someone like him that has a reputation, can be given harsher treatment than others with no rep, we'd still be 1-0 up and with 11 men.

yes Johnson cheated by over-acting, but Barton was an idiot for sticking his face so close, Warnock again made useless subs and our team lost it

regardless of whether or not Barton was foolish to square up to Johnson, it doesn't justify the latter going down as if he had been head butted.

Lambert even acknowledges that it was not a full head butt, so how can he honestly say that Johnson did not cheat? What force made him fall holding his face, Barton's bad breath?

The facts are that neither official saw anything wrong, The ref did not stop the game and the assistant did not flag, bit instead waited until Barton had been fouled for the 3rd time in the passage of play before deciding what to do.

The whole appeal process is a joke and the panel should be made up of 5 people who have been part of playing professional football, i.e. ex players, managers and refs.

If Poll, Gallagher, Shearer and Hansen had been on the panel the red card would have been rescinded (not that it would give QPR the points back).

Not once did Bradders go down, not once!

At the risk of being banned I'll add this, Warnock has been selective in his version of events and is just trying to cover and excuse his own dismal performances.

                      Lambert is spot on....yet again.

Agreed johnson didnt go down, nor did he run to the lino or anything else.
in fact no one really protested until the ball went out of play

from where i was sitting in the UL we thought whitbread was going to get sent off for kicking barton 10 seconds before the 'head-butt'

i know its our team, our player and our manager but why cant we just be honest about it

he's paid 80k a week and knows he has a rep
its his job to suck it up and not get in a situation where we maybe stuck with 10 men for 60 minutes.

I'm sure he holds his face like hes been smacked with an uppercut, that's enough for me. Johnson is a cheat straight up and lambert should've kept quiet on the matter rather than making himself look like he condones this sort of thing.

However joey Barton got himself sent off. Shoulders the bloke, then goes right up into his face when he of all people should know what players are like these days, whether or not there was contact its not miles away from his and gervinho's incident. Gervinho hardly even touched him and he went down like he was shot.

It affected the game and eventually the result, how can that be making excuses?
