  • Barton Hypercritical?

Sorry if already brought up but someone at work today commented that Barton slating Johnson for getting him sent off was the pot calling the kettle black after he did the same after a coming together with Gervinho in the Newcastle Arsenal game at the start of the season. Got to be honest i completely forgot about that and he does have a point.

Personally I don't give a stuff about what he did when he played for the Geordies. All I know is that a disgraceful decision by the ref and the FA has cost us big time while he's in a hooped shirt.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

It's true but still buggers us up. Also he was head butted but made a meal of it but on Monday it was not a head butt.

I bet the refs and the FA do.
That´s the problem, like it or not.

The play acting element is the same, and he can't argue the fact, however, there is a difference in that Gervinho actually did hit hit, which although not enough to knock him over, it did happen and is a sending off offence. He will say he just made it clear to the officials of what happened by going to ground.

He never actually did anything to the Norwich player to make him play act.... This along with the fact none of the active "match" officials deemed it relevant to call even as a foul when it happened, and this whole sending off and 3 match ban stinks.

Because the FA back there ref's to the hilt, right or wrong,NW was correct in saying you cannot have any faith in the appeals procedure unless you are a top 6 club...stinks tbh !!!

Thats what confuses me, no one seems to have seen an offence, yet after the game continued and was stopped later he was sent off, still correct decision though because it was aggressive intent and had the ref seen it he would have walked. Was it spotted on a monitor and flagged up which shouldn't be allowed?

Agree as to there being some aggression but have to say the Norwich player would have definitely been given his marching his orders for his part in the 'theatrics'

I know I'm being really pedantic here but Hypercritical means something completely different to hypocritical. Your Arsenal reference suggests that you think he was Hypocritical.

As much as I am apalled by the joke sending and the usual stubborness of the FA too see common sense. I fear that our Joey is a victim of his own reputation!

It comes to something when you're punished not by your actions but by your reputation. I think the whole business is pathetic, but there are some QPR fans who feel the ref and the FA got it spot on.

I disagree, and so do many within the game.
