Simon Jones is Sportsmail's man on the inside of all the major transfer moves this January. Don't miss your daily Insider installment here for Tuesday, January 4.
Bassong and Alex would be excellent signings, and both very possible. I'd also have a look at Bridge and Ridgewell, as well as a centre midfielder and a forward, possibly a LB as cover for Luke Young. Six or seven new players and we'd be looking good.
Can't believe Bassong would contemplate the Hammers, especially after NW showed strong interest in him during the last window.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
But would Bassong want Championship football after we had a deal agreed in January and are keen this time as well? I doubt it myself
Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
And many more mistakes

At the end of the day it doesn't really matter if Spurs want a WH player, if Bassong doesn;t want to go they can't make him. Besides, whatever they get from a Prem club for Bassong would surely cover any fee, or at least most of it, for a Championship player regardless, so i doubt it would be a deal breaker for Spurs as they aren't hard up!
