Great player but I doubt it's realistic for us. He was saying he wanted to go back to Brazil a few days ago?

"The biggest problem is that I still have a year-and-a-half on my Chelsea contract, it will be difficult to get released. If I had less time on the contract a return to Brazil would be easier."

He handed in a transfer request in December which was accepted, so why would he say that.

Hm yeah that's true actually. Not like Santos can't afford the £2m.

Doesn't that mean that Chelsea want a fee and brazil clubs unwilling to pay it.

Think James is right. Juventus presumably wouldn't have a problem with paying £2m but if he can't return to Brazil just yet and if his family are fairly settled in London then we might be in with a shout. Just hope Arsenal don't nip in and take him. Have we ever been linked with a Brazilian international before, other than one who was about 95 and smoking 60 a day?

According to Captain Pugwash on the other thread, the talks failed yesterday. Think we need to wait and see what the reliable sources have to say first.
