  • Should Wigan sack Martinez?

To all the vultures who want Warnock out I ask you this question. I assume you do as I see no difference in ours and their situation. Two small clubs in trouble. They probably have a better squad and we have 2 more points.

I think Dave Whelan will stick with him and rightly so. Do you agree?

Do you really believe that by changing the manager, whover that maybe, it guarantees sucess? Dont get me wrong, if you are suggesting Jose M or Sir Alex I would agree of course. But we are not talking that calibre are we. What you are really saying is somebody like Dave Jones or McClaren would guarantee us the points to stay up. That is bananas!

Balckburn is a really odd situation but Wigan are very similar to us. Do you knwo better than Dave Whelan, of course not.

The Special One wants to come back to England after Real Madrid.

        If only......
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Mate if I said jones or mclaren I'd be crazy , when I say a new man it doesn't mean anyone
I've given my reasons previously but I'd take hughes
Not that he will but If he went back to Blackburn next couple of weeks will have a bet with you that he keeps Blackburn up
Wigan is a strange situation , they are not an attractive proposition small team but with no budget , and whelan very loyal to his man but there is a business side to him that I know about as am in industry , he will
Not want a manager in who wants cash , he has a similar outlook to Ashley but without the resource that newcastle bring in

            Just a side note

I agree about Blackburn but I think it is a different situation to us. They have the players but Keane has gone past that line where the job is untenable. I dont think he had the experience to do the job. Plenty of others have failed there too. You say Hughes would keep them up and you are probably right. Dare I say Neil Warnock would too! Who knows. What i do know is NW is our Manager and what I do not know is if MH would even take the QPR job if offered.

Wigan, IMO, is a much better example of a club is similar circumstance to us. Whelan has got the cheque book out before and there are funds there. they have also been here longer and have had as settled squad, we havent.

Why do you think TF will show faith in NW?

Being truly honest I think tf so
Aware of the t&c era no one wants any comparison, I think in a roundabout way if we had gone through that era I'm
Not sure we would have been as tolerant

To be fair, you would have wanted Mancini sacked after losing to Sunderland.

In one of those studies that academics do at universities now and call it "research", the performance of every club across the leagues was compared before and after they sacked their manager. The very clear conclusion? Virtually without exception every club experienced a short term bounce as morale is lifted and players try to impress their new boss. But very quickly - after five or ten games - results were either the same or very slightly worse than with the old guy. Of course you manage to bring in a top manager and throw a big budget at him and that's potentially a game changer - but sack him and replace him with someone of similar pedigree, and all you do is make certain fans like Rebel feel better for five minutes that someone has listened to their anger. Your club doesn't actually improve - and ultimately nor will your anger levels.

No there is a difference. We've got fund.

I think the Sunderland board, players and fans are quite pleased they sacked Steve Bruce............... But in answer to your question, I think it was highlighted on Talk Sport the other morning that that changing managers now (in January) does give you success.

NW will not be sacked so its a mute point.

Paul - are you dismissing above then?

Sunderland changed Bruce for Martin O'Neil. We would never attract that calibre of manager would we? Silly comparison.
